I Always Knew, by Risu-chan
Summary: A rather
interesting conversation between Don Wei and Rick, one year later.

"I always knew those two had a thing for each other," Rick Thunderbolt said, smirking. Don Wei sighed and nodded his head. It had been his idea to hold an Earth Team reunion, as it was exactly a year since they had left for the Great Race of Oban. Don Wei was a little bit surprised at the kissing, but he supposed he should have expected it.
"Yeah. There really wasn't anything stopping them, I mean I sure couldn't," he replied with another sigh.
"From my understanding, they really got the team through some tight jams back on Oban. Wish I coulda been there to see it."
"Yes, they certainly did some outstanding work. Definitely made me proud down to the last minute."
"Well if you don't mind me saying so, Don, they seem pretty happy together."
"I suppose you're right, Rick. They were always side-by-side back on Alwas and Oban, too."
"Yeah, I can't believe you didn't realize it sooner. I mean come on, old man! It's pretty obvious."
"Well it's not that I didn't realize it," Don Wei scratched his head as he spoke. "I just sort of ignored it."
Rick looked mildly surprised, although it was hard to tell through those dark shades. "Ignored it?"
"It wasn't easy, let me tell you. I ran into them acting cozy quite a few more times than I wanted to. Although they usually tried to hide it when they noticed me."
Rick began laughing, and then shrugged. "Whatever."
Suddenly, Eva ran up to Rick and punched him playfully in the arm. "Hey Rick! Come over here and check out the flips I can do on my scooter!" She was followed by a grinning Jordan.
Rick smiled. "Sure thing, Little Mouse."
Don Wei followed Rick and Eva out of the room to give Stan and Koji some time alone.
End! I know it was silly and there was no warning but hey, you gotta admit they're cute.
