No One to Blame

He sits alone

Remembering the things he has done.

As he dreams of where he came from

The world he knew has turned him upside down

And he tries not to drown

And he waits alone

And he dreams of his home

And yet in his heart he knows

There's no one to blame

There's a voice deep inside

That tells him there's nothing to hide

He was never in the wrong

But deep inside, he knows

There's no one to blame

And nothing's the same

He is broken and waiting for change

He can't stay this way

He wants to go home

But he knows he's to blame

That name he heard

It seemed long ago

He wishes then he had realized

That the name that he despised

Was staring him straight in the eye

And reminding him

That there's no one to blame.

This was my first attempt at poetry but it came out closer to song lyrics. I know it's not the best right now, but I wanted to know what you think. Please leave a review and tell me what you thought.
