On the evening of December 31st, Rocky sat alone, breathing in the crisp, winter air. Yes, a New Year's Eve party was raging indoors. A Stark party, in fact, but it was 11:57 and Rocky really didn't want to be inside right now. She sat right next to the glass that prevented people from falling off the building (thanks to Clint, Christmas Eve 2014) and looked up at the stars. From there, nearly the top of Avengers Tower, the stars were pretty visible. Well, not as visible as in her home town, but they'd have to do.

The years was winding down, and the moment Rocky had hoped to avoid was fast approaching. She chose to ignore it by leaning on the glass barrier, placing her palm flat against it and looking out at the city. The bright lights celebrating the night were enough to make her forget her fear of heights until she heard a voice behind her.

"Not enjoying yourself?"

Rocky rolled her eyes. "I'm hardly going to enjoy the coming of the new year more around other people. Might as well start it by being calm."

Pietro sat down next to her. "Is that so? And are you not afraid of heights?"

Rocky shuddered, thinking of when Tony found out and pushed her off Stark Tower. Yes, he caught her, but that wasn't the point. "I am, but it's nice out here. Quiet."

She heard people inside start yelling. "10! 9! 8! 7!"

Rocky rolled her eyes. "Might want to go back inside. Now's your chance with anyone you've been eying for the last six months."

As the people shouted, "4! 3! 2!" Pietro replied, "No, I'm right where I want to be."

At 1, he leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to her lips before speeding away, leaving her shocked and more than a little confused. She touched her lips and smiled. "He's a quick little shit, I'll give him that."
