~~~~~~~ Delightful Dinner ~~~~~~
Hello there !
This one-shot is mainly here to make everyone wait for the next big story with chapters and everything.
To summarize a bit: Izuku and Ochako have been together for two weeks and they try to hide it from others. The rest is said inside the fic.
I'll see you in the Author's Notes to talk a bit more about everything.
Today was going to be a really simple, yet enjoyable day. Izuku woke up a bit earlier than usual unintentionally, it was too bad, but at least he could train more than the day before. A thin ray of light went through his curtains, by a little hole in one of them, and landed directly in his eyes. He blinked a couple of times and sat on his bed to think for a few seconds after this unwanted awakening.
His view directly was attracted by all of his flashy All Might's posters and models. He really had a huge collection, this took a lot of time to get, but he was glad that he could manage to collect such a big amount of collectibles products. He loved every little detail about his room: from his desk where he spent days and days, writing about every Quirk that he knew to learn more about them; to his little bed that he had since he was a child when it was way too big for him.
His mind went without any transition to Uraraka. He was happy to have her by his side. She really was an incredible girl and he thought every day that he was the luckiest person on Earth. She loved him back and they had a strong mutual respect for each other. They got together two weeks ago, after a weird false date and a lot of tears. He was in one of the worst points of his life so far, and she was there for him, as always. Every time he needed help, comfort, or just wanted some company, she was there, and he was glad for that.
After this emotional moment, he decided to get up. A quick glance at his clock told him that it was earlier than he thought, 7:10 am, he still had plenty of time before school. He chose some training habits and changed his outfit to go out. Morning routine like that was one of the best time of the day, he could do his running quietly while thinking about various and diverse subjects. This time, he thought about how his relationship, again. Izuku thought a lot about it these times, but it was a fairly new experience, so it was normal to question a lot. He really wanted to make her happy but he didn't know how.
He could ask her on a date, but the simple thought of it made him blush hard. That was a good idea, but he didn't know how. He couldn't just go and ask her out, it was too simple and too difficult at the same time. Even after two weeks, the two couldn't hold each other's hand in public without wanting to disappear instantly, after all, they tried to keep their relationship a secret to avoid all the teasing that Mina and the others could do.
At this time, he arrived at a crossroad and, instead of going to the right to catch his usual road, he turned to the left because he had more time than normally. He returned to his main debate: what to do? He could just ask for a cinema, but he had to invite some other guys to make it not weird and definitively not a date.
Who, though, was the question. Who in the class could be a good false couple? The most obvious one would be Ojiro and Toru but he didn't spend that much time with them, so asking for a double date at the cine would just be, bizarre… And he didn't want to become the next Mina by shipping others, he didn't have any confirmation that they loved each other, they just spent time together a lot, nothing more. Yes, Ochako and he were just like that before, but that didn't mean anything.
He let this question unanswered for now and focused on the road to follow to get back at his home after this little detour.
When Izuku entered his house, he was welcomed by his mother, Inko Midoriya, as each morning after his training session. After their little greeting ritual, he directly went to his room. He opened his curtains to let the light illuminate his chamber, and he glanced at his wardrobe. It was a school day, so he didn't have much choice: his uniform and that's all.
The One-for-All user went to shower himself after that. This was the second time of the day when he could think peacefully, even if it didn't last for that long. The hot water was something surprisingly relaxing, even if he was in a high-stress moment. He continued his mental debate about who to bring with them at the cinema, blushing a bit, but couldn't see a pair who would be fitting enough, so he dropped the idea, at least for now.
He came out of the shower, dried himself and dressed up, before coming out of the bathroom. The smell of good breakfast gave him the appetite. Today it was rice and chicken with sauce, which he particularly liked. After such a long training morning, Izuku ate his breakfast quite quickly, but carefully enough to not soil his clothes. He went back to his room and filled his school bag with school stuff before saying goodbye to his mother and going out of his home.
The road was calm this morning, no Villain in sight, no Hero to interview, and no Bakugo to insult him. When he arrived close to the school, he didn't see Uraraka where she normally was. Maybe she was in advance, but if she was late, he decided to wait for her a little. After five whole minutes, he decided to keep walking, he didn't want to be late too. If she indeed was late, she would catch him up after, which is exactly what happened.
He heard a quick running sound and when he turned, he saw the girl who was in her school uniform. The gravity manipulator fastly got to him and kissed him on the cheek, which made him blush a little. She always finds funny how he couldn't manage to stay normal when she shows her affection towards him, but at least it meant that he truly liked her.
"Hello, Deku !" She said happily.
"Hey, Uraraka! How are you doing ?" He asked shyly, looking at her round eyes which sparkled every time she saw her.
"I'm good, and you ?" She replied kindly, happiness was still readable in her eyes and whoever who looked at them would see how well they complement each other.
"Fine"
When they arrived at the school, Izuku removes his hand from her girlfriend's one to keep their secret. They went to their classroom and sat down in their seats, separating so no one would have any suspicion over them. The only thing that they weren't aware of is that everyone in the class, even Mineta or Bakugo, knew for them. in fact, it was really obvious when you looked closer. The class started when Aizawa entered the room, and everyone went to their respective place.
" 'Kay, so I see that everyone's here. It's good. You all know that holidays are coming quickly, but I don't allow anyone to think that they can just spend their time doing nothing. I'm going to make you all pass a physical test before and after the holidays, so you better train yourself a bit. "
This is the exact time where Deku stopped paying attention at the class and wrote in his notebook.
The morning flew and Izuku noticed that only when the bell rang. He was about to exit the room when he felt his phone in his pocket. He took it out and saw a message from his mother. Sliding his thumb on the screen, he read this :
"Izuku, is Ochako near you? Can you tell her that I would like to invite her for dinner tonight? I love you. Your mom"
Wait… What? His mother wanted to invite Uraraka. Tonight? But why would she invite her? Inko couldn't have found out their relationship, right? He never talked about it in front of anyone other than Ochako herself. So how could she have known that? Today is gonna be a long day.
It was lunchtime and Uraraka and Izuku were sitting down next to each other. Everyone in the class was enjoying the meal and talking with anyone, except Bakugo, of course, who was complaining about everyone and threaten them to "rip their head off". When they all started getting up to exit the Cafeteria, the One-for-All user made a sign to Ochako to tell her to stay seated. When the students were out of hearing range, he told her about the text he received earlier:
"I almost forgot, but I need to tell you something." He said, a little blush on his cheeks.
"What is it ?" She asked, intrigued by the sudden tone change of his voice. There shouldn't be any secrets between the two since, well, they pretty much already said their biggest secret to each other.
"My… My mother would want you to come dine with us tonight. O-Only if you're ok w-with that, of course. I don't w-want it to look l-like I'm forcing you o-or anything like t-that." He said fastly, stuttering from the sudden blush that came out of nowhere.
Her eyes widen as she thought a bit more about it, and she quickly responded. "It's perfectly fine by me, I just need to say to my parents that I will go out this evening." She grabbed her phone and texted her parents, while Izuku got up, waiting for her to exit the room. She quickly got her answer: It was ok, mainly because Deku was a boy in which her parents had a total trust. After all, she talked about him like every day. A big smile appeared on her face as she exclaimed: "I'm so happy to come by tonight! It will be really fun to meet your mom for the first time! "
She made a little pause, looked at Izuku weirdly and suddenly asked. "Wait, why did she invite me? Did you tell her-"
"No, no… no, I didn't tell her about us," Izuku assured, his hands waving madly. "There's no way she could have known it… Apart from the fact that I talk a lot about you to her, maybe." He admitted, a hand scratching behind his neck, looking at the ground.
"I think that it's enough, you know, she should have a sort of maternal instinct or something? She maybe could feel this sort of things." Replied Ochako.
"Huh, so now somebody knows about that, our secret didn't last for that long…" Sighed the boy.
"You have no idea how many people know about it"
Ochako and Izuku heard this voice coming from behind them. They both turned back and saw Jiro, standing in front of the exit, leaning on the wall and playing with her earlobe.
"What are yo- Oh no! Don't tell me that you heard us." Cried Izuku, his face now as red as Todoroki's hair. Uraraka had her hands on her face and started floating a bit, before releasing her power to land on the ground.
"Doesn't matter. Everyone in the class already knows it." She said calmly.
Listening to these words, the couple froze for multiple seconds, their mouths still in suspension in the air. They slowly turned their head to see each other and just saw the same reaction: A mix of incomprehension and guilt.
"I thought that it would be better for you to know it, so you don't try to hide it anymore. I mean if even Mineta noticed it, you aren't the most discreet guys of the school…"
The tension in the room was so dense that they could cut through it with a knife. The looks were fulfilled with surprise and the two concerned were looking a bit mad at themselves.
"I think that I've said enough, you two need to talk a bit, I think. Just don't be late. See ya !" Said the girl, exiting the cafeteria, waving at them while walking out.
The two concerned watched the girl going out of the building, and stood still for some seconds. None of them knew what to say but Izuku was the first to break the silence.
"I… well. I guess everyone knows it now… Right ?"
"I guess you're right. Dunno if that's good or bad. At least they still think that we don't know that. Mina won't bother me too much with it, for now." Said the brown-haired girl.
"So being with me bothers you ?" Asked ironically the One-for-All user, making a bright blush appear on her cheeks.
"No… That's not what I mea-" She defended herself, before punching him lightly: "Oh you knew it. Hate 'ya." She said the last word with a small giggle. He cleared the air, and the two looked more relaxed than before. They decided to go in class before anyone could notice their absence.
The rest of the afternoon went as fast as the morning. Midoriya listened to his professors, participated in the class and successfully filled the math test, though it was a hard one. Knowing that his girlfriend would come eat at his home this evening made the day really enjoyable, and everyone noticed the constant smile on his face. He even got some indiscreet questions from his classmate, Mina in particular, but Mina was who she was after all.
The last period bell rang and everyone rushed out of the class, Iida followed to stop them from running. Ochako and Izuku were the two last to quit the room. She slowly approached and gave him a quick peck on his cheek, making him blush slightly. They walked out and went to their respective home to prepare themselves after saying goodbye to their loved one.
Both of them thought a lot about what was going to happen: How will his mother react, how did she know about their relationship, how often will they blush during the soiree…
Ochako was trying to figure out how she could dress. She could go with her simple red dress, but maybe it was a bit too much for the first meeting with Inko. Another option would be a simple blue jean, with her favorite pink top and a black jacket over it. It seemed like a good idea, so she decided to go with it. It looked laid back, but not provoking.
She arrived at her home quickly and was welcomed with a ton of question from her parents: How much time will she stay there, why did Inko invite her tonight, what will they eat, what present did she have planned to give Izuku's mom… The good point is that she hadn't thought about a present, and it was a good idea. The bad one was that she didn't have any answer to these questions and that she started blushing as soon as she heard Izuku's name. She avoided all these questionings by going into her room, pretexting a big homework that she definitely needed to do before saying anything else.
She took a little time thinking about his new boyfriend. She found him really cute, in all the ways possible. The way that he blushed any time she kissed or complimented him really made her happy. At least he wasn't faking his feeling, even if he wouldn't ever do that, he was too kind for it. He always asked if he could do something else to make her happier, he was trying to be the best companion possible. In fact, they were both still figuring out how to be a good couple, thin whole relation thing being very new to them. But she wasn't afraid of anything: they both loved each other so much that they could forgive anything that they might do wrong, even after only two weeks.
He was a real blessing and she couldn't hope for a better friend. He was perfect for her, she liked everything in him. From the little freckles on his face to his bravery when it came to saving his friends. The fact that he always knew how to cheer someone up with kind words or affectionate gestures. His muttering storm always amazed her because of how much he could focus on something when it fascinates him. She loved how he stuttered every time he was embarrassed and how he still managed to tell his love to her every day through little signs, like holding her hands the morning or looking at her with a smile at lunch.
She finally started to prepare herself. She picked up her clothes for the dinner and went to shower herself. After a warm little bath, she dressed up and couldn't help but think that she was kind of pretty in this attire, and she secretly hoped that Izuku would like her outfit. She put some fragrance, a discreet but sweet one, and got out of the bathroom.
Izuku entered is house and said hi to his mom. It felt like everything was going well so far. She was preparing the meal sooner, so she could spend some time with Ochako when she would arrive. He quickly went to his room to change himself from his school uniform. The clothes that he chose were quite simple but still fitted him.
Going out of his bedroom, his mother complimented him on his choice of outfit. Inko's son helped her with the dinner, a Katsudon, his favorite food. He seasoned the sauce in which the pork was boiling. Cooking for his girlfriend was something really enjoyable, but he still wondered why did his mother invite Ochako. He decided to ask her about it.
"Mom, why did you invite Ochako of all people? N-Not that there's anything wrong with that, I mean… Huh, yeah." He said, with a light blush on his face.
"Because you talk a lot about her, she seems to be a really good friend of yours. Why though ?" She replied, making his son flush harder. "Is there anything you wanna say ?"
Izuku had now one of the worst blush ever. Did his mom now everything? Maybe Ochako was right with her 'Maternal instinct' or something. "N-No, no…. There's nothing…" He tried to be convincing, lying to his mom. He could have said the truth, but he didn't know if Uraraka would be ok with Inko knowing.
He wanted to avoid this discussion by going into his room again when the doorbell rang.
Ochako rang the bell, and suddenly, a huge wave of stress crushed on her. How should she act? How will Inko act? Did she know about their relationship? How will they find her? Was she dressed in 'rich' enough clothes? Money was tight on her end, so she couldn't afford more, but was it enough?
All of her fears vanished at the instant where Izuku opened the door. He was smiling really hard, and it warmed her heart to see him like that. He wore a green t-shirt with a black jacket, a dark blue jean, and his favorite red shoes. She entered slowly inside and quickly kissed him on his cheek, making him blush and making his mom giggle slightly. They both turned to her and she waved at his son.
"Oh, you're so cute together." She always knew how to put her son in an undesirable spot. The two teens were red and they didn't move for a while. "So you don't come to say hi to me ?" Teased Inko, looking at the girl.
"Oh… Excuse me! My name's Ochako Uraraka. I'm in the same class as your son." The Gravity Manipulator said as she approached the mother.
"Yes, I hear about you every day, you know ?"
This news, even if she already knew it, froze her, because it came from her boyfriend's mother.
"Huh… Yeah… He is pretty awesome too…"
The two teens didn't know what to say, the woman put them in a corner. This was the time where the cooking plate beeped, saving them from her.
"Oh, the dinner's ready !" She said with a smile on her face. The meal smelled really good, and everyone sat around the table whose been put by Izuku before. The Katsudon looked appetizing and both of the students wanted to eat it as soon as possible. Inko served their guest a bowl and took two others for her and his child.
Ochako talked first, with a bright blush on her face: "Oh. I'm sorry, I forgot to give you this." She reached out a little box of her pocket and gave it to Inko, who was surprised.
"Oh… You didn't have to offer me something. It's too kind of you." She opened the box and found a collar inside of it. It was a black necklace with some white and blue pearls on it, with a big pink pearl in the center. It was a gift that Ochako had for a moment, but she never wore it because it was too big for her, so she thought that it would be a perfect present.
Inko put it around her neck and the two teens complimented her about how good it looked on her, then they all started to eat in silence for a couple of minutes until she broke the silence once again. "So, you know my son for a long time if I'm right ?"
"Actually ma'am. I know it since the entry exam, when he… Well, save my life ?"
Inko wasn't aware of this story. Her little boy saved her? "I didn't know that Izuku saved such a beautiful girl. He chose well."
The compliment made her blush a little, but the woman reassured her: "Don't be embarrassed like that, I didn't know the exam could be that dangerous. If I knew it before…"
"And she also saved me right after," Added the green teen. "I guess we're even now".
"And you never talked to me about it ?" Asked Inko
"Huh… I thought that you might get angry at me for the risks I took and that you would prevent me from going to U.A.." Replied Izuku, a bit of shame on his face. "I would never have known some amazing guys, like Iida, Todoroki, Tsuyu, Ojiro…"
"Don't you think that you forget someone ?" Teased Ochako with a wink, making him blush a little.
"Oh, and y-you of course. Eh eh… I didn't f-forget you, Uraraka…"
"I know, I was just messing with you." She said, gently pushing him with her elbow.
Both took another bite in the meal before giggling a little at their similar actions and childish teasing. Everything was going well, the three were happy, some discussion started around the professors, the grades, their friends, the school, and some other random topics. Izuku and Ochako took care of not revealing their relationship, the USJ incident or the past semi-depression of the boy.
Inko apologized almost a million times for not having a dessert, even after Ochako told her that he was no big deal, that she didn't like them that much and that she wasn't used to eating them a lot. The whole dinner passed really quickly, much to their displeasure.
"I think that you should go now Ochako, it's pretty late already, and I don't want your parents to worry too much about you." Said kindly Inko.
"I-I can escort her to her house if needed, it's a bit dark out there, and there have been many Villains attacks lately, and-." Tried to say Izuku at a really fast pace.
"Yes, yes. You can go out with her. But don't come back too late." Replied his mother with a small wink, clearly seeing through his false alibi. A bright blush appeared on the teen's faces and they went out.
After closing the door, they both stayed right behind the door, a small breeze on their faces. It was a bit cold outside, but still manageable. Knowing that no one would see them, the girl took a step forward and moved closer to her boyfriend. She put her hands on his back and hugged him. He could manage to not blush too hard because it wasn't a public place and nobody was here to disrupt this moment.
He hugged her back kindly while she nuzzled deeper into his shoulder. She did that a lot when they are hugging, and feeling her body so close to his was a delightful sensation. She rose her head a little and murmured into his ear: "Did I ever say to you how much I love you ?". This was the best thing she could have said at this precise moment. He tried to answer but all that he was able to say was "I-I, yes… M-me… me t-t-too... Too…", and he flushed harder, feeling a warm sensation in his whole body. She separated from him and simply put her lips on his.
It's only been the third kiss that they've done, though, Izuku was more relaxed than before. When the girl left his arms, he pulled her closer gently and kissed her back. It was the first time he initiated it, and it was even better. They both felt their feelings and shared them. They hold them back for too long, and now they knew about them, now they could assume their feelings, now they can live happier. They both took a step back after a moment and looked at each other eyes. The only thing that appeared inside of them was the joy. Giant sparkles of joy and tenderness, that shone in the dark and showed how much they care for the other. They both crossed so much to finally have this moment of pure young love and freedom. But everything has an end, and when Ochako's phone rang, she kissed him a final time, waved at her boyfriend, winked and then walked in the dark, reassuring her parents.
Izuku entered back in the house and was welcomed by his mother. She clearly knew something, he had seen this face way too many times.
"I think that she's pretty adorable too, I'm glad that you chose her Izuku."
He suddenly blushed really hard, she knew it from the start. "I-I don't s-see w-what you're m-meaning mom… It's n-nothing… nothing a-at all…" He tried to defend himself.
"Don't try to mess around with me, I know it, hun. To be honest, anyone who looked at you could see that you go well together."
Izuku scratched the back of his neck and looked at the ground. "Well, I think that you're right…"
"Knew it. You can't hide something this important to me, especially if you talk about her every day praising her qualities. You even have a blush every time I ask you about her. These signs never lie you know ?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"I won't bother you more with this for today, tomorrow for sure. Now go to bed, hun, it's late already."
"Okay. 'Love you, mom." Said happily the One-for-All user.
"Love you, Izuku." Replied his mother.
With that, the little Midoriya went to his room and went to sleep. It really was a great say, and he was glad to have seen Ochako more. He swore to himself that one day, he'll be able to act like a real boyfriend without stuttering or blushing. One day, in the future, they'll move together and be a happy couple, and maybe one day, they'll found a family. For now, he had a lot of things to do: He still was in his first year at U.A. after all. But one day, everything's gonna be perfect, him, Deku, the symbol of peace, with her, Uravity, the smiling and gravity-controlling girl. They will be together, forever.
Author's notes :
Hey there!
Wow, this was hard to write. A big (only 5k, so not that big) one shot of pure fluff because everyone needs some IzuOcha every week. I'm sorry in advance for all the grammatical errors that I did. I wasn't able to spot them even with a few rereading of the text, and I know from experience that I do a lot of them. If some of you are willing to help me out correcting them before the next uploads, you can DM me and I'll contact you when the next story will be written.
If you're not already in it, join the IzuOcha Discord (link in my profile page since I don't know if I can post a like in here).
I'm currently finishing the timeline of my main stories, because yes, there will be a timeline. I won't give more info on it until the next main story. To make it short: the "big" ones with chapters are the core (with more OC villains, I know that you hate them), and there will be others one-shots like this one which won't affect the whole thing that much.
As always, don't forget to review and share the story, I'll never thank you enough for that.
And until next time: Go Beyond! Plus Ultra!
