Disclaimer: I don't own Guiding Light or any of its characters. If I did, the show would not be ending in a month. :(

A/N: I decided to write this story for the simple fact that there are almost no stories featuring one of my favorite couples; Daisy and James. This is a oneshot fanfic about James and Daisy's camping night after the cameras were turned off. It's all fluff so I hope you like it. Reviews please!

Alone In the Woods

This was the last place Daisy ever expected to end up; in the woods by a campfire wrapped in his arms, but here she was. Ever since she ran into James at her old boarding school in her old room, Daisy had been trying to get him out of her head. He was one of them, a Spaulding and she hated Spauldings. But it was more than that. There was something about his cocky attitude and how sure he was of himself that made her want to whack him over the head with a bag of rocks.

But when James took her to Universal Studios and she spent the whole day with just him, Daisy saw a new side of him. Between the way he tricked her into holding his hand on their first rollercoaster and the tons of funnel cake he bought her until she thought she would burst, Daisy realized he was different from his psychotic and dysfunctional family.

Daisy thought back to just last week when they were hanging out at his house playing some stupid game on his Xbox. She couldn't even remember the name of it now, just that they were supposed to be finding and shooting each other. She lost almost every time because she was so distracted by him. He was completely absorbed in the game and winning that he was oblivious to the fact that her player was barely moving from the starting point. Every time he won, James would tease her endlessly but she would just laugh it off and blame it on the game then challenge him to another. Then she'd end up right back where she was last time, watching him.

She couldn't help but stare into his face and those blue-gray eyes that she got lost in every time he looked at her. But mostly, she was gazing at those strong, capable arms and how they tensed up as he jerked back and forth on the controller as he tried to find her character on the game and become champion for the seventh time. Then, Daisy couldn't help but wish they could be around her and she would daydream about how wonderful that might feel. And now they were.

She smiled at those memories, almost like dreams that had now come true. She pulled his t-shirt over her nose and breathed in his scent. She loved that scent. She loved that stupid shirt but now it had a deeper, more special meaning. It was what he had offered her to wear in place of the strappy tank top that had gotten misplaced during their love making. He had done what any boyfriend would have done in the situation and that's what made the moment more precious. But wait; did that mean that he was her boyfriend now? She thought about it but the answer came only moments later.

Daisy knew she was really falling for James Spaulding but that was okay because he was too. She sensed it in the way he looked at her and tonight, she felt even more in the way he had kissed her and touched her, making her feel like she was the most important person in his life. She snuggled closer, causing him to tighten his hold on her waist. James sighed contentedly, his breath playing across her cheek. And it was only then that Daisy allowed herself to drift off into a peaceful sleep.
