Just Feathertail talking about how she loved Crowfeather first. They were so cute together!
I loved him first, you know.
Crowfeather.
He swore he'd always love me. There was a cat inside him, a cat who whould do anything for those he cared about, a sweet and loving cat, a misunderstood cat who hid his feelings with a prickly coldness.
Stormfur was upset about my feelings for Crowfeather. He begged me to forget him, told me to remember our parents-how could I forget?
But I couldn't leave Crowfeather. He told me he would still want to see me once we got back home, and I thought my heart would explode. It was under the light of the moon, next to a little stream,and I remember dipping my tail tip into the water, and how it reminded me of the river in Rivercaln territory.
We rescued Stormfur, and I was so happy. But I was guilty too-we'd stolen the tribe cats' only hope of survival.
We met some outlawed tribe cats, and that was when we knew-we had to go back. But our plan didn't work. I was standing on the ledge beside Stormfur, and I realized the truth.
I stared down at Crowfeather, about to die. Sharptooth was standing there, and I could do nothing.
But as I looked at the waterfall, I saw a silvery shape. She dipped her head very slightly, then disappeared. I knew what I had to do. I turned to Stromfur and told him goodbye. He realized what I was going to do a second before I did it.
He yowled my name, but I ignored him. Then I was falling…falling…It seemed as though I was falling for many seasons.
I saw Stormfur yowling, the other cats gasping, and then I saw Crowfeather. He was staring at me with a look of utter horror.
Than I hit the ground, Sharptooth falling beside me.
It was like being under deep water. Then I was gone.
I remember being so proud when he became a warrior and took his name in honor of me, and stood vigil over my grave.
I was happy for him when he fell in love with Leafpool, and I respected her for seeing the cat in Crowfeather that I saw. But still.....
I loved him first, you know. And we will always hunt in Starclan….together.
