Quick story about shinkokami and her baby
read and review
Princess Shinkokami of Tortall was pregnant with her first child. She missed the traditional ceremony that would honor her baby. She also missed her home, the Yamani Isles, however she felt guilty. She was not a princess in the Isles, only in Tortall. Shinkokami had married Crown Prince Roald three years ago, but she was still not at home. Totall was beautiful, but Shinko longed for the ocean.

"What's wrong?" Queen Thayet asked her daughter-in-law, one day, "Is it the baby?"
Shinko shook her head, "No."
"Are you ill?" Thayet was concerned.
"No," Shinkokami felt fine, considering her pregnancy.
"Is it Roald?" Thayet was stern.
"No!"
The Queen left, looking to find Yukimi, Shinko's friend.
In truth, Shinko was bothered by her child. She knew it would inherit the throne next, so it would be very important to all of Tortall. But, she was afraid her baby would forget its Yamani heritage. She wanted her child to see its mother's birthplace.

Lady Yukimi of Queenscove found her princess sitting on her windowsill, staring out onto the palace gardens. "You miss home," Yuki sat next to her friend, forgoing formalities.
"Tortall is my home," the Princess replied, her face a Yamani mask.
Yuki sighed, "Neal says it's alright to miss home," her husband, Nealan of Queenscove, was good at recognizing Yuki's emotions.
"You aren't the princess," Shinko replied.
Instead of saying something, Yuki lead Shinko to a mirror. "Look at yourself," she commanded.
Shinko saw a face as white as milk. Her hair was limp and stringy, her eyes dull. Even her lips were thin and pale against her scarlet dress. Only her Yamani skills kept her from tears.
Yuki grimaced, "You can't live like this. Think of your baby."
"My baby will be Tortallan. Not Yamani. He will not know of my home," Shinko gasped then began to sob.
Yuki was bewildered, "Hush," she murmured.
"Shinko?" Prince Roald looked worried. "Mother said you were upset."
Yuki stood and left, curtseying to her prince.
Shinkokami dried her tears quickly, "I'm sorry, my lord," she apologized.
"No!" Roald moved to his wife, "Are you ill?"
"Can I ask a favor?" She pleaded.
"Anything."
"Our baby, will it be part Yamani. I mean, you won't make it forget where I was born."
Roald sat next to his wife, "No. Our baby will be proud of its beautiful Yamani mother."

Shinko held her baby close. Roald entered the room, "It's a girl," she said beaming.
Roald grinned, "She's beautiful."
"What is her name?" Shinko asked.
"I was thinking Lianne," Roald said.
Shinko asked, "What about Lianokami?"
Roald nodded, "It's perfect."
"Hello Liano," Shinko whispered, "Hello Princess."
