Clary sped across the long hallways of the Institute. She couldn't sleep. Everytime she closed her eyes, all she saw was Sebastian carving up Jace and all her friend's bodies one by one. It had gone on like this for nights. The first time it happened, yeah it scared her shitless, but she thought it would go away after one night. But she was sorely wrong, for the next night she woke up screaming as her brother had moved on from not only Jace, but to Simon, Izzy, and Alec.

This brought her to why she was walking down this dark hallway. The coldness of the marble floors digging into the bottoms of her small feet like seraph blades. She brought her arms around her and kept making her way down the hall to Jace's room. The further she went, the more the darkness swallowed her small frame whole. At some point, the redhead just couldn't take it and before she knew it, her back was pressed up against the wall adjacent her boyfriend's room.

That's when the tears started. And once they started, she couldn't stop them. Clary didn't know how long she crouched there, her legs pulled into her and her head hidden from view. Her sobs and turned into hiccups and she felt like she was drowning into the floor beneath her. A small part in the back of her mind just wanted her to let the floor take her, take her away from this horrible state of mind. But before anything happened, she heard his voice.

"Clary? What are you doing out here? It's almost four in the morning," Jace replied groggily.

But the more he talked, the more awake he sounded. The concern that laced his words make her choke on her own snot. She couldn't get any words out, just hiccups and sobs. And before she knew it, his arms were wrapped around her and Clary was being carried to Jace's cozy bed.

She snuggled into his warm embrace and didn't break her contact even when she was placed on the large mattress. Jace draped the blankets over, spooned he, and wrapped his arm over her slight waist. He kissed his way from her ear to collar bone, the action sending waves of electricity throughout her body.

"I love you, Clary," he whispered. She could hear the smile in voice.

She hummed her agreement and snuggled closer to him. The dreams of the platinum-haired boy long forgotten. Right now, the only person she had on her mind was Jace. And that was perfectly fine with her.
