My last hope…

The story is about two women who come from different backgrounds and how fate brings them together.

Shabana is an independent Muslim woman living in Jammu&kashmir.. She was married to Imraan Khan. They both are very happy. After some days Imraan leaves for Saudi Arabia to begin employment.

Meera, a simple Rajasthani Hindu woman lives in Jodhpur with her husband Keshav and her in-laws. In her life everything is in accordance to customs and traditions. She is not allowed to do anything without permission of her in-laws. She is not allowed to enjoy freedom and her happiness much.

Coincidentally, Keshav finds a job in Saudi Arabia. Meera finds it tough without her husband but they manage to stay in touch. Keshav calls her regularly. He also sends his wages home to support his family. His family includes his father, mother,grandmother and Meera.

One day, Meera does not find any remittance from Keshav. Time passes, she does not get any phone call. Meera gets worried. After some inquiries, she is devastated to know that Keshav was killed in a accident. He has killed by being thrown off a 10th floor by his Muslim roommate.

Everything changes quickly, her jewellery, ornaments, fancy clothes are taken off and she is told to remain indoors, wear dark clothes and is only allowed to pray at mandir. The rest of her family vents their frustration of losing their only son on Meera, by blaming her for bringing bad luck to their family.

On the other side, Shabana comes to know that her husband has been arrested for murdering his roommate in Saudi Arabia. She goes to Saudi Arabia. Her husband tells her it was only an accident. Shabana try to convince the officers but law of Saudi Arabia is unforgiving.

Shabana is told that the only way her husband can be pardoned is if the widow of the dead man signs the petition of pardon.

Shabana sets out to find the woman, not knowing that her name is or where she lives in Rajasthan. She did not know where to go.

On route, she meets a man, he introduces himself as a kathputliwala. His profession requires him to keep visiting diff. Places.

Shabana asks for his help. He agrees. After a lot of troubles, they find keshav's home.

Keshav's family refuse to do anything for her. Their anger burst out. She feels may be talking to Meera might help her. She finds the temple where Meera go regularly. She goes there and meets her and due to fear she does not tell her of her intentions. She starts befriending her. Over a few weeks, they become good friends and spend most of the time together. Their friendship brings out the missing part of their personalities. Meera gets a glimpse of freedom. Now, she has a new perspective of life.

When the news of imminent death sentence arrives, Shabana compelled to tell the truth to Meera. She meets Meera and tells her truth . Meera was shocked and devastated. Meera refuses to sign the document and instead insults and slaps her. Shabana was heartbroken and deeply hurt by meera's decision.

She accepts the fate and decides to leave.

Her father in law's havelis in under debt to a businessman. The businessman demands of Meera in exchange of debt. Her father in law agrees. Meera comes to know of it and has a change of heart.

She realises Shabana has indeed given her so much more in friendship, life and life-lessons.

She rushes after Shabana. Just when the train is about to leave, she reaches and finds Shabana and gives her the signed statement of forgiveness. While the train leaves the station, Shabana holds out her hand for Meera to come with her. Meera grabs it. She runs away from the only life she has ever known. She goes with her leaving behind her pitiful caged life, as the train speeds up into distance…..
