Ch.1 – Spell gone wrong?

"Alright Calcifer, one more spell and I'll be the most powerful wizard in the world!" A man with short blonde hair and vibrant blue eyes smirks.

"I don't know about this Howl." A talking fire with a face comments. "Last time you said that I almost got put out and if I die, you die."

"Ah, but see this." Howl holds out a pinkish jewel while drawing intricate designs on the floor. "There is a legend about this jewel. That whoever can activate it will be grated wishes. Its strange but I think its worth a shot." He picks up a shovel and scoops up Calcifer. "Ready?"

"Fine. But if this doesn't work –"

"It will." Howl puts his free hand out and the floor marking glow as the jewel in his outstretched hand sparks to life. Howl barely has time to toss Calcifer back into the fireplace before a girl appears in his arms. "Well… this is unexpected…"
