My first ARK story! Well, hey all. I've noticed recently of the amount of unoriginal ARK fics on this site, and that bothers me, so I've taken apon myself to make a more original story. Warnings: There is depiction of death in this story, some swearing, and other graphic stuff. Anyway, I'll quit talking and head right into the story.
TIME: 23:43
LOCATION: The Island, Southern Islets
MISSION: Eradicate village known to assist resistance members.
The night grew cold in the south of the island as a quetzal equipped with a platform saddle with a small metal structure on top. Inside were four men patiently awaiting to be dropped off, all with riot armour, fabricated firearms, pikes, radios and food.
"So, Greg, what're you doin' once we win this war?" An older man asked to his teammate.
"Oh, I dunno. Maybe get a girl, live out on an island somewhere so I don't have to hear what anyone else has to say to me." The others let out a laugh.
The quetzal suddenly made a jerk to the right, nearly throwing all off their seats. "Hey!" Someone shouted. "Learn to fly already!" He shouted to the pilot.
"Team 9, report status." A vocoded voice coming through the radio said.
"Greg here, we're all good. Waiting to be dropped off at landing zone." Greg reported.
"Copy that. Remember; leave no survivors. High Legion's orders." The radio clicked off. Conviently, the bird landed at the same time.
"Let's go!" Albert shouted with his thick Australian accent. The four men opened the back door up and hopped down and onto the beach. "Don't fuckin' shoot until we're there. Only use your pikes against attackin' dinos unless necessary.
The group cautiously walked along one of the beaches of South Zone 3, being wary of anything.
"Do you recon there's infected in the village?" One of the men asked.
"Possibly. We have masks so I wouldn't worry too much." The team leader, Alen, responded. The group continued to trek on the beach and to the coast. Suddenly, someone began to scream. All turned to see a dilophosaurus had spit on their unsuspecting team member.
Albert immediately charged at the dinosaur with his pike and with little resistance, impaled it through the throat, killing it in seconds. "You alright, mate?" He let out a hand.
"Yeah, I'm good, thanks."
"You 'oughta be more aware, kid." He said before they moved along and reached the coast. There, all four could see the lights of the village just ahead. They all casually walked by some passing dinos as they made their way to their primary objective.
"Is everyone all loaded?" Greg asked. Everyone have a nod. "Remember; no survivors." They finally reached the wooden village, where a young woman wearing hide armour was out front.
"Hello? Can I help you f-" She was cut off by the men raising their weapons and began to shoot. She and anyone else in the line of fire were immediately killed. People began to scream as the 4 soldiers started to torch some houses.
One threw a grenade through one of the open windows of a house, which exploded, killing all occupants. Another began to kick down a door, which proved difficult for the man because the door was being help shut by someone inside.
He finally broke through, to see someone charging at him with a spear. He quickly shot his assault rifle, killing them. He raised his rifle and began to shoot everyone inside before exiting.
A couple of villagers rushed out and rained down arrows at the soldiers with their bows. Despite their efforts, they were all put down easily.
The group torched the last house, and looked around at the now destroyed village, satisfied with their work. "Looks like we're almost done here. Check for anyone still alive."
Just before they all spread out, a gunshot coming from a simple pistol was heard and hit one of the soldiers in the back of the head. Luckily because of their helmet, they survived. All turned to look at someone in white flak armour. "Resistance!" They continued to fire at the four men and take cover.
They began to take cover and shoot at whoever it was. One chucked a grenade towards their enemy, which blew up. There was no response from the shooter as the men began to make hand signals to eachother and move with caution forward.
Suddenly, the resistance member darted out from between two of the destroyed houses and kicked one of the men in the face and onto the ground. The others shot at them, but the bullets were nearly ineffective as their target dodged the shots and proceeded to melee attack one of the men.
The blow was dodged and countered with a rifle but to the face, which knocked them down and proceeded to shoot them.
Shockingly, they resistance member was somehow still alive. "So what tough guy do we have here?" Greg asked as he pulled the helmet off of their enemy, revealing a woman around 30 years old with a look of hatred on her face.
"Aw, ain't that sweet, a girl thought she could take us on. Pathetic." Without hesitation, Greg raised his fabricated pistol, and pulled the trigger.
"Well, I recon that's that." The man on the ground said as he got up. "Big man'll be satisfied."
"Yeah, you're right." Albert turned on his radio. "This is team 9, mission's been finished." As he looked at the burning village.
And there's the first chapter. Stay tuned and we'll see why this horrible event happened, and what lead up to it.
