One morning Thomas and Percy were heading off to the scrapyards to collect scrapmetal. Upon arrival they found an old Express coach on a siding. "Hello," said Thomas. "You're not scrap metal. What are you doing here?"

"Waiting for an engine to come take me home," said Coach as she eyed Thomas. "My name is Coach. Would you like to be the engine that takes me home? I've always fancied going with a TV star." Thomas blushed as Percy rolled his eyes.

"Well," said Thomas. "If you want to be back into service I shall talk with my friends at the Sodor Works and they'll get you up and running. In fact I can do it now."

"You can do that after we take this scrap metal down to the mainline," said Percy. "It has to be on the train to Barrow in Furness in an hour."

"My you've got some lovely buffers," said Thomas completely ignoring Percy.

"Thank you" said the coach blushing slightly. "Are you a free engine?"

"Yes," said Thomas.

"No you're not," snapped Percy. "You've got Annie and Clarabel as your coaches."

"Don't you have scrap metal to collect Percy?" asked Thomas. "Now let's find a shunter and I'll take you to the works."
When a shunter was found Thomas ordered his driver and fireman to take him to the works with Coach. As both men had a stake in Thomas and Friends merchandise they agreed to do it. Meanwhile Percy had to struggle to move both his and Thomas's scrap train to Knapford.

Douglas was at Knapford with the scrap train along with the Fat Controller, Annie, and Clarbel. Percy arrived and shunted the entire scrap trucks onto the back of Douglas's train and then added a brakevan. "Percy, where's Thomas?" asked the Fat Controller as Douglas steamed off. "You were almost late."

Percy explained what had happened. By the time he was done it was hard to tell who was angrier: The Fat Controller, Annie, Clarabel or Percy. "Well I'll be having a word with Bob and Pete about this," said The Fat Controller. "It was a mistake to give them forty percent of Thomas's profits as it went straight to their heads. Percy would you mind taking Annie and Clarabel along the branchlin?"

"No not at all," said Percy. He was coupled on to Annie and Clarabel and the three set off along the branch. "I can't believe Thomas would turn against us like this," said Clarabel. "We've been with him the entire show."

"He's an engine who'll take any coach he fancies," said Annie. "They're all like that. With the exception of Percy," she added. "You've always been a good friend of ours Percy."

"Thanks," said Percy. "And you've always been great coaches when I've worked with you."

"Thanks," said Annie and Clarabel.

At Dryaw Percy had a man walk up to him. "Are you Percy?" he asked. "Of course you are you're the only engine on the island who looks like a green caterpillar with red stripes."

"I beg your pardon?" asked Percy. His driver and fireman were ready to start yelling at the man as were Annie and Clarabel.

"Calm down it was a joke," said the man. "Anyway my name is Dalby, I'm an E.P. that means,

"Executive Producer," said Percy who was beginning to wonder if this man thought he was stupid. "I took a BBC E.P. over to the Skarloey Railway for its' one hundredth anniversary."

"Great," said Dalby. "Anyway your friend Thomas has asked if you and your bugboxes."

"Bugboxes!" shrieked Annie and Clarabel.

"Would be interested in signing a new contract," said Dalby. He showed Percy's driver the contract. Percy's driver responded by tearing it uyp and getting on board Percy. "Let's 'urry ourselves up to Ffarquhar and back," he said. "I want to have a word with that little blue git."
