" 'Gina, time to wake up. I have the best surprise ever for you!" I hear as my girlfriend, Emma successfully wakes me up, with a particularly cheery voice. The voice that I have recently learned means she has something up her sleeve that I will either love or be very unhappy with. "Emma, let me sleep, I'll see it later" I grumble as I try to drift back off to sleep for a few hours. "But Regina!" she protests. "It won't be awesome if we wait any longer, we'll miss it!" she exclaims as she switches from sitting on the bed to slightly bouncing, like a child.
Knowing full well that Emma is apparently determined to not let me get back to sleep, I relent and start to get up. "Fine I'm up, but this better be good Emma, I love you but so help me if you made me get up at" I glance to the alarm clock next to me as I sit up in my very comfortable bed "5 AM for nothing then I will have to make you pay dearly." Emma just throws me a classic Emma smile, one I have seen hundreds of times and could never tire of and says " Aww, love you too baby and trust me this is totally worth it" as she saunters out of the bedroom.
After getting showered and getting myself dressed and ready, a process which is drastically faster now that magic has come to Storybrooke and I can now use magic to instantly get dressed and apply my makeup and jewelry, I make my way down to the kitchen where I see Emma and Henry. Emma hands me one of her two cups of coffee while Henry is sitting with his Hot Chocolate with cinnamon of course. I take the coffee with a quick kiss and a "Thanks" and then turn my attention to my son who I have never seen up this early. "Henry, you're up this early! Ok what is going on here?" I ask, growing suspicious.
Emma lets out a sigh and finally tells me "Ok, so the surprise is that we had to get up so early so we could get to the airport and make our flight. We are surprising you with a vacation!."
