Piper walked down the train, confused as to where to sit. She peeked into nearly every compartment she walked past, but to find they were full or uninviting. Her red curls bounced off of her shoulders as she walked, still hoping someone would open their compartment to her. As she came to the end of the train, she peeked into one of the few remaining compartments. Inside there was a girl that looked to be a first year like her, minding her own business. Piper decided this was her chance.
"May I sit?" She asked timidly as she slid the door open.
"Sure!" The girl replied, happy to have someone to talk to.
This was Lynn. She was also a first year going to Hogwarts. She was excited and nervous at the same time. Lynn was one of the first people on the train and she was able to find a compartment in the back. Hogwarts was going to be a giant step in life. Meeting new people, learning more things, and experiences will be different.
"So… are you a first year like me?" Piper asked. She was nervous about making new friends, but loved it at the same time. Much like Lynn, actually.
"Yeah I am. Do you know what Hogwarts is like? I have so many questions. It even includes laundry because there is no way I have enough clothes for the year. Do you know?" Lynn asked. She was curious and random at the same time.
"I actually do know a few things, including the laundry situation! The house elves do it all for you. Apparently they love to clean." Piper replied.
"Oh that's interesting. The only type of elves I know are Lord of the Rings elves and there is no way they would do that for fun." Lynn stated. She had a giant obsession of Lord of the Rings, if you couldn't tell already.
"I've actually never read Lord of the Rings, but I am apart of some fandoms myself…" Piper said. That was the beginning of a glorious friendship that would last a very long time, or at least until their third year, which is what this story is based on. As the train began to start, a girl with bobbed, straight black hair rushed in and sat down after frantically asking, "Can I sit with you guys?" That was the beginning of another glorious friendship, but between the three girls. Later on they develop a larger group of friends and have great fun through their first and second years. Here we go again…
