A loud wail broke through the silence of the house.

"No," a man said, putting out his hand to stop the woman that was already getting out of bed, "I've got it." He knew the past few following their daughter's birth had taken it's toll on her.

"Are you sure, Roy?" The woman asked tiredly.

Planting a kiss on her cheek, he sat up. "Yes, go back to sleep."

She nodded slowly and laid back down, falling asleep immediately.

Roy smiled and started to walk to in the direction of the wailing. Walking out of the room, he quickly turned and opened the door to the next room.

It was a nursery. The walls were light blue and white. A crib sat in the corner near the window.

Inside the crib lay the source of the crying. A black haired baby girl lifted her chubby hands in the air, searching for anyone who would pick her up.

Roy walked over to the crib and leaned over the railing to pick up his daughter. "Hey," he held her close to his chest, "why are you crying, sweet girl?" He asked curiously.

He sat in a white rocking chair nearby and rocked back and forth gently. It was only moments later that the babe stopped crying.

Smiling down at her, Roy started to hum a tune. Seconds later, words joined the humming.

A gentle breeze from Hushabye Mountain

Softly blows over Lullaby Bay

The baby's red eyes watched her father intensely.

He brushed a few black curls from her face.

It fills the sails of boats that waiting

Waiting, to sail your worries away

A silent yawn came from her as fought sleep.

So much like Riza. He laughed to himself as she rubbed furiously at her eyes. So much like me.

It isn't far to Hushabye Mountain

And your boat waits down by the key

Finally she surrendered to the clutches of sleep and snuggled closer to Roy's chest.

Sighing contently, he continued to rock her.

The winds of night, so softly are sighing

Soon they will fly your troubles to sea

After a while, he decided to lay her in her bed. He stood and walked back to the crib.

So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain

Wave goodbye, to cares of the day

He laid her down on her back and pulled a blanket over her.

And watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain

Sail far away from Lullaby Bay

In the doorway stood the woman from before. A warm smile graced her lips as she listened to her husband.

So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain

Wave goodbye, to cares of the day

The woman padded into the room and wrapped both arms around Roy's waist. "You should sing more often."

And watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain

Sail far away from Lullaby Bay

Roy chuckled as he finished the song, "I'm just glad I can hold a tune, Riza. I'm perfectly content to sing in front of you and Gianna only."

Riza rolled her eyes, "Ready to go back to bed?"

"Yeah," Roy leaned down and kissed Gianna's forehead. He then followed Riza out of the bedroom.

Slowly, they both climbed into their bed.

Roy wrapped both arms around Riza. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Roy." She kissed him on the lips.

Both new parents fell asleep content, knowing their daughter was safe and sleeping peacefully.

Author's Notes:

So, I had the sudden urge to write a FMA fic and I came up with this. It is a songfic using the song Hushabye Mountain written by Robert and Richard Sherman. I hope you like it. Please review telling me what you thought! :D
