AN: This has been lying around my hard drive for some time now. My take on the whole, Snape survives but loses his memory and Hermione finds him. Let me know if you think I should continue it or leave it as a standalone!

He took a breath. She smelled of a million and one things. Laughter, love, hope. Hints of longing. Perseverance. Unfamiliar things.

"Are you alright?" a furrow appeared between her brows, confusion apparent in her features. Her brown eyes filled with concern, and that bushy hair just seemed so… She reminded him of something. Something long forgotten.

Acceptance, almost.

She reminded him of coming home, as if he knew what that was. When she looked at him that way, maybe he did.

But no. He had no future. He was a man with a past lost to him, marred by injuries he didn't remember. He only remembered enough about himself to know one thing—he would destroy her.

He swallowed, throat suddenly tight. "Fine, its fine" he said gruffly. Who was this woman? He would never, should never know. He turned to go.

"Wait!"

He paused. She was touching his arm. Shit.

A slip of a girl, he wondered, making me squirm so? He would have laughed if his control wasn't stretched to breaking point.

"You need something?" he asked, turning back.

"Your name. I didn't catch it,"

Well I didn't throw it, he should have said. I need to go, he should have said.

Your smile is driving me up the wall, and I should leave before I accidentally pin you against this wall and take you, he should have said.

"I'm Sebastian. Sebastian Smith," he said.

And it was all downhill from there.

Short. Review!
