Tag to Small Victories - Eaten Alive
When a handsome man, a notorious big flirt, asks a girl to his cabin for a week alone in the great north woods to go 'fishing' what's a girl to do?
So she said "No."
It's not that she wasn't tempted but her better angels erred on the side of caution. And they nearly died.
Saved at the last moment by clever thinking they wound up alone for a week on a distant planet with a Jaffa chaperone and no fishing pole.
He asked again and again – still she said "No." and again he nearly died, was nearly eaten alive by the same insidious enemy.
What started by a simple invitation ended in his bed on their return. She was weary of waiting for fate to decide.
On a high from saving the Asgard she was all smiles and fuzzy warm feelings for him as he lay on the deck of Thor's vessel after the rescue from the doomed sub. It wasn't until Daniel showed her the feed from the sub that she realized how close she came to loosing him. How he and Teal'c had given it their all and asked Daniel to fire the nukes that would have obliterated them. A fine choice – being eaten alive or disintegrating in nuclear debris.
Would he ask her again? How many times does a guy relish rejection? Would they all be alive for a next time?
Maybe it was time for her to offer him an invitation?
His answer wasn't a babbled excuse of too much work. No, his answer was a sly seductive smile that made her toes curl and needed no words.
