Eric ran through the door. He was excited that he had finally got his New York state hunting license. Eric was a person who liked to hunt. He wanted to hunting but he had nobody to go hunting with. Erik's parents were soldiers in the Army and they had gotten deployed in Iraq and Eric was sent to South Dakota to live with his grandma and grandpa. Eric was sad because he was going to miss his parents.

Erik's parents put him on a plane and sent him to South Dakota. He arrived in South Dakota a few hours later. He Found his grandma sitting in a chair waiting for him. He collected his longish and Him and Grandma went to the car Grandpa wanted to be called Big Darrel and grandma's name was Oma but Eric could call her what he wanted.

Big Darrel lived in the middle of nowhere with Oma. When they arrived to the house he was not happy because he had nobody to play with. When he walked inside he was bored because they didn't have the kind of stuff that he had in New York.

Eric started to like South Dakota and was outside a lot. Eric was really bored and he said to himself, "Its time to leave." Big Darrel worked wherever he was needed and Oma helped at the church. When both of the grandparents were gone, Eric knew this was his chance to leave, so he was walking out the door. He walked down the road. A FEW DAYS LATER: He slept wherever he could. He woke up and was walking down the road and the South Dakota Sheriff Dept. found him and they took him to the police station.

The police took Eric to the police station. Eric did not want to go with the police but he had no choice he wanted to stay in the woods. When the police arrived at the police station, Oma and Big Darrel were waiting there. The police released Eric to his grandparents and after a while Eric's parents were done in Iraq he went back to New York.
