Lizzy had always loved winter. She loved to watch from her window seat as the flakes fell the outside world in a blanket of white. She had many fond memories of the season. She remembered her Aunt Rachel and Uncle Vincent taking her on a ride through the countryside in a horse drawn carriage, building snowmen with Ciel in the yard and the occasional snowball fight,followed by a fire in the sitting room and got cocoa while Vincent Phantomhive told stories from his favorite chair.
She sighed at the memories. Those days were gone now. She missed her family terribly.
"Lizzy?" Ciel called ,entering the room,Angelina growling softly in his arms. Lizzy quickly wiped away the tears and turned to them,forcing a smile.
"Are you all right?" The former earl asked,moving to stand close to her.
"Yes,I'm fine. I was just thinking about when we were little. When it would snow, we used to have so much fun. Aunt Rachel and Uncle Vincent always had something planned. Madam Red would come visit and-"
"They're here a lot, with Michael and Scarlett. We still have them. Scarlett actually has a play date with Rachel tomorrow." Ciel comforted.
"I know, but we can't all go into the country in the carriage and -"
" I'm sorry. I know you love doing all that.I miss it too sometimes. "Ciel confessed. "It would be nice to have family rides,unfortunately it's not possible as far as I know, for them to actually leave the property when they're here." Ciel and Lizzy sighed heavily.
"I'm sorry to bring all this up now, but with the first snow of the year and-"
"It's all right. I'm glad you're sharing this with me. It's not good to keep it all inside. I did, well we all know how that worked out. You've always been better at all that. I do want you to know that you can talk to me about anything and everything,just like before. You're still my family and I love you." Lizzy rested her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you. I'm so happy to have my Ciel back.I love you too."
" You're always going to have me. It's good to have you here, it wouldn't be the same without you. " A moment of silence passed as the cousins stared out of the second floor window.
"Lizzy...Alois is bringing Cayden and Lenora over later, I was thinking about taking the children out to play, if you want..you can come too. I know it's not the same, but maybe we can make some new memories. I'm sure I can get Sebastian or Cynna to make some hot chocolate when we're ready to come in." The blonde girl grinned.
"I think I'd like that." She replied. The demonling fussed in her mother's arms.
"I better put Angel down for a nap. Will you be okay?" Lizzy nodded.
"Yes. Thank you." Lizzy softly stroked child's hair.
"Have a good nap, sweetie. I love you."
"I'll come by a bit later, I promised Rowan I would watch something he calls 'Lovey's show.'
" that sounds cute. " she cooed.
"From what I understand,it involves Lovey and several other toys dancing. You should join me. "
"I wouldn't want -"
"You won't, we'll go together,he'll be happy to have you in the audience. I'll see you soon." Lizzy nodded.
"Very soon, we have a lot to do today."
Ciel was soon out of view,leaving Lizzy to prepare for the day ahead.
