Author's notes: A poem inspired by the TV Show, Transformers: Armada, reflecting Starscream's unique friendship with Alexis.
Look at this face, and say what you see;
Shouldn't it be monster, what you'd call me?
That's all that I am, truth be told,
Just a black heart shrouded in cold.
I never imagined you'd take away these thoughts of mine,
And make me believe that I truly could shine.
How could you persist, and be so disarming,
Breaking through these defenses with a voice so charming?
I'd like to believe that I could change,
And claim this life that feels so strange.
I tried to make up for what I lack,
But could never beat this desire to go back.
Forgive me, for I know you wanted me to stay,
But from my true colors, I could never sway.
Though I may be lost, and buried in sin,
Take comfort in the part of you that remains within…
