There are many things that can make people hateful. If one mentioned magic in front of a certain family, you can be sure that they throw a temper tantrum and then throw you out of the house. This family prided themselves on normalcy, but they held what they considered a deep dark secret.
Their nephew at the age of fifteen months defeated what many would consider the most evil man on the planet. That same night his parents died. What many people do not know was that a figure watched the scene and left the child with three gifts and the knowledge on how to use them when the time came. The first gift is one that has been passed down in his family for generations. The second was passed from hand to hand leaving a bloody trail in its wake.
