Don't
you wish you could hold
The angel in the centerfold
The fantasy
you couldn't control
I walked away from you (I walked away from
you)
Don't you wish you could hold
The pretty little paper
doll
The one you couldn't quite control
I walked away from
you (I walked away from you)
He flipped to the centerfold of that month's issue wondering who could be the pretty girl. His eyes popped out of their sockets as his mind registered who it was. Bella. The one who got away. He had loved her all of his high school career and had even dated her but she broke up with his, leaving him to pick up the pieces of his heart she left scattered on the hallway floor.
Flashback
"I just don't think we should see each other anymore. It's just not working out. You're too clingy and I'm just so unhappy." She said, looking down at her feet as she blushed nervously.
"But, Bella, I love you so much. I thought everything was going great. I mean prom is coming up and everything." He said, slightly panicky.
"I know, but I've found someone else I want to be with and he makes me happier than I've ever been."
End Flashback
He knew she always wanted to be a model, and man was she pretty enough for it but he never expected her to be in this magazine. He looked over her scantily-clad body and took a deep breath. He couldn't look at her anymore, it hurt too much. He missed her more now than when they first broke up. He imagined what it would be like if they had stayed together and gotten married like he always planned.

Bella walked in from the kitchen and called him for dinner, he loved it when she cooked. With her modeling career she rarely had time anymore but if modeling made her happy he could handle fast food…or worse, his own cooking. The last time he had tried to cook Bella came home to an all new kitchen. She had laughed and kissed his cheek before cooking his favorite meal. Which he had so conveniently stocked the kitchen with the day before.
She waltzed into the dining room and he followed her. She took her place to his left and he sat down next to her before taking her hand and kissing her palm. She smiled and he returned it, loving the little flutter in his stomach.
Mike returned from his fantasy and flipped the page before turning off the light and going to bed. His fantasy would never come true, the article about Bella had said she was married to a photographer…Edward Cullen.
