Intro
Aurelia's home had long since been dilapidated, just from the wear and tear that long periods of time bring on houses that aren't stone fortresses. This, however, was not a concern for Aurelia, seeing as most of her unnaturally long life was spent in the library catacombs built beneath that house. While she has amassed vast amounts of money in her 506 years of life, the house was unassuming and far too beaten up for anyone to bother her, or be aware of her existence.
Her insatiable thirst for knowledge was the only reason Aurelia had made the deal of immortality. In recent years she started to realize the emptiness of her life from lack of those empowering bonds people create between themselves. Those encounters that give life a purpose. She had always rationalized that it was better off that way. Why would she let herself become attached, only to be constantly crushed by outliving anything important? Why live with the guilt knowing that no one would truly accept such an unnatural existence that is kept alive by the life of another?
Despite all of her rationalizations, Aurelia decided that she shall no longer hole herself away gaining knowledge that she cannot share or utilize. Her mind was made up… She would once again venture into the sunlight. This time, not just to find a suitable sacrifice, but to revel in all that she has deprived herself of… excitement, passion, happiness, anything and everything!
