The Last 30 Minutes of My Life
30:00- The scene was in total chaos. Squad cars everywhere. Uniforms and detectives alike running from position to position. Trying to get a bead on the shooter.
29:00- So loud, sirens and yelling. Radios squawking as everyone tries to figure out what is going on. Dispatch trying to locate everyone.
28:00- CRACK! Silence, everyone hits the dirt. A few voices yelling "Where did it come from?! Anyone hit?!" Slowly the silence gives way to the chaos once again.
27:00- Dispatch calls out over the radio, "3 known missing Detectives Frost and Korsak and Dr. Isles." The radio squawks as dispatch clears the channel.
26:00- CRACK! Silence again as everyone tries to look around them or at the building, to figure out where the gun fire is coming from.
25:00-20:00 S.W.A.T. And hostage team, arrive and begin setting up. Still no movement from the building.
19:00- CRACK! 3Rd time is a charm, someone catches muzzle flash in one of the top floor windows.
18:00- S.W.A.T. Is geared up and ready to move, hostage team is trying to contact the shooter by one of the detectives phones.
17:00-15:00 All eyes on three different windows as Frost, Korsak, and Dr. Isles can be seen standing in the windows.
14:00- As if on cue, all 3 are pushed from the windows. Immediate silence envelopes everyone.
13:00- no screaming no flailing, dead before they went out the windows.
12:00-10:00- shocked silence as everyone takes in what has just happened.
09:00-08:00- I unholster my service weapon. And check the clip.
07:00- I stand up next to the squad I had been using as cover. Look over to the bodies of my friends, No my family.
06:00-05:00- I step around from the squad and start to go to them. Ignoring the voices of protest, telling me to get back and take cover.
04:00-03:00- I weave my way through the chaos and go to my family. My service weapon dangling from my hand as I stand over them.
02:00-01:00- I begin to cry as I stand over them, My heart breaks and I no longer want to live.
00:00- I place my weapon to my left temple and whisper "I am coming with you."
