All characters belong to JK Rowling and not me…unfortunately.
"Are you sure we can't come too?" asked Hermione, "You need us. You know you do."
"No. I'll be fine. I don't want to see you two get hurt," Harry replied. Ron, Hermione, and Harry were saying their goodbyes on Platform 9 3/4. Ron and Hermione were starting their last year at Hogwarts while Harry went out on his own to find the last Horcruxes. They had both tried repeatedly to convince Harry to let them come with, but he was being extremely stubborn.
"Harry…" Hermione sighed, shaking her head.
"Don't worry about me Hermione," Harry said as he pulled Hermione into a hug, "I'll be okay. You and Ron stay out of trouble while I'm gone. Don't have all the fun breaking rules without me." Harry pulled back to see tears threatening to fall from Hermione's eyes.
"We won't, Harry."
"Hogwarts isn't going to be the same without you, mate," Ron said, putting a hand on Harry's shoulder. "I'm going to miss you." Ron scratched the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable with the amount of emotion he was showing.
Harry suppressed a chuckle at Ron and said, "I'm going to miss you guys too." Harry and Ron hugged goodbye which sent Hermione sobbing into her hands. Harry smiled at her one more time, said goodbye, and walked away from the with his head down as Ron went to put his arms around Hermione and kiss the top of her head.
Harry kept walking towards the barrier until he stopped suddenly as a pair of feet stepped in front of him. He looked up and met a fierce looking Ginny with fire gleaming from her narrowed eyes. She wasn't going to back down. She was going to convince him to stay. "Ginny," he whispered. That's all it took. He said her name and her face softened.
"Don't go," she choked out.
"I have to."
"Then take me with you."
"I can't. It's too dangerous and I don't want to see you hurt."
"I'm already hurt, harry."
Harry sighed and pulled her into a hug, holding her as close as he could. "I love you, Ginny. Never forgot that," he whispered. Harry felt her start to shake with sobs and she squeezed him tighter. "If I come back-"
"When you come back, Harry," Ginny said firmly, pulling away enough to look at his face. Harry sighed and looked away. Ginny took his face in her hands and held his forehead to hers. "I love you, Harry," she whispered. "I will wait for you."
Harry pulled her closer and kissed her with as much passion as he could. It was too short for Ginny, but it held a lingering promise of more to come.
As they pulled apart Harry and Ginny heard the train whistle a warning to get on soon. They both turned to see Ron and Hermione being one of the last to get on. "You have to go," Harry said.
"I don't want to go," Ginny said into his shirt. Harry laughed, turned her around, and pushed her towards the train. Ginny closed the train door and looked out the window at Harry where he smiled to her. The train began to move. Ginny saw Harry, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed, and then he fell back and waved. Ginny laughed and waved back, thinking about Harry's first year on this train when she had done the same to her brothers.
She kept waving until she couldn't see harry anymore, and then she collapsed into Ron's arms behind her and sobbed.
Don't sue me, a few lines in there was taken from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and all credit goes to that.
