Hermione sighs as she looks outside the window of the train compartment, the war had taken everything from her, her friends are distant, her parents didn't remember her. And she was left alone, penniless and scarred. She is pulled from her thoughts when the compartment door opens and Harry, and Ron walk in. Harry's arm around Ginny's waist, and Ron's around Lavenders. She self consciously pulls the sleeves of her shirt down to hide the newly formed cuts in her arms, and puts in a fake smiles to hide the depression She's battling. But they practically ignore her the whole train ride, except for the few hellos and how was your summers.
The rest of the way there she ignores them, and starts re reading Hogwarts a history, as to not make them worry. When they reach the castle comes and greets her, except her teachers. When she sits down at the Gryffindor table she sits away from the rest of the 'golden trio' and keeps her attention on dumbledor
"We'd like to welcome all the students back to Hogwarts, it certainly has been an eventful year if I do say so myself." He chuckles softly, "and now for the sorting-"
After they finish sorting the new 1st years, dumbledor stands up again " and now to announce our heads, and prefects this year, our head girl is ... Hermione Granger, "applause rings through the great hall, hermione puts on a fake grin and bounds up to the stage to shake dumbledor a waiting hand, "and this years head boy is... Draco Malfoy," hermione turns to look where the bouncing ferret himself comes sauntering up the steps and shakes fumble does and her hand, through you can tell by the way he stiffly shook here, he wanted this no less than she did. She doesn't hear the names of the prefects all that is running through her mind is that she has to share quarters with Draco Malfoy.
Ok so I know not a very good/long chapter but hey I wrote it in an hour and on my iPod so I'm proud of myself, please go easy on me if anyone reviews this is my first story, and I'll try to update every Friday but no promises. And cookies for any one who actually read this far
