ENJOY!

Coming out is hard (believe me, I know from the few friends I've come out to), but coming out to both your dad and your boyfriend's parents is harder. And with the two of us being step cousins doesn't help either. Yes I'm Jasper Barlett and I'm in love with Henry Griffin…the monkey boy of D.C.

We only just started going out, and have never been on a date, and only Maggie knows. But that's going to change! Henry's parents are coming to visit, and we decided to have the gay talk with all the parents at the same time. This will be fun.

Henry's the one that convinced me to do this. It's not that I think my dad won't like it, it's just I didn't exactly know how. It will be nice to kiss without fear of him walking in on us.

But there we were. The five of us. Eating dinner, and chatting lightly. Me and Henry kept sneaking glances at each other, waiting for the right moment.

Finally he said, "We need to tell you guys something."

Instant silence!

I looked at him, begging him to say it all so I wouldn't have to. His answering look said I wasn't going to get out if it so easily. So I started, "Me and Henry are-"

"Dating." We said together.

The three parents again didn't say anything, but went back to eating.

"T-That's it?" I asked after sharing another glance at Henry.

My dad just shrugged.

"And you were freaked out." Henry whispered to me.

"Shut up." I whispered back.

Later that night dad took me over a little from the Griffins, and said, "I'm glad your happy, Jasper."

"Thanks, dad." I hugged him, and headed back to the others.

"Everything good?" Henry whispered in my ear, sending a shiver up my spine.

"Never been better."

When we went to bed Henry told me that he'd had a similar conversation with his parents, and that they were happy for us.

"I still can't believe you were worried." He murmured before kissing me lightly and climbing into his hammock.

I walked over and kissed him a bit more forcefully, and whispered, "Good night."
