Unlikely Alliance
Ch1
Summary: Every single mutant around the area begins disappearing without a trace. It comes down to a very unlikely pair of mutants to try and figure out what's going on. But can they solve the mystery or do they too fall victim to vanishing? JubileeBobby.
Time setting: Takes place before the mutants are found out to the world.
A/N: Spur of the moment fic. I've never done a fic centered on Bobby before. I hope this proves to be exciting.
"Freedom!" Bobby Drake whooped as he walked towards the front entrance of the big Xavier Institute. Jubilation Lee grinned at him as she pulled the scarf around her neck tighter. The two of them were coming home from school. That day marked the end of school for the winter holidays. Upon entering the mansion, they were met with chatters of excitement and whiffs of yummy scents. Bobby went straight towards the kitchen, his stomach growling loudly as Jubilee went to her room to rid herself of her many layers. In the kitchen he found Jean and Scott cooking up a storm. Seeing a pile of buttered toast, he reached for them and smuggled two off the plate and sneaked away before he was caught.
He gobbled his toast and walked to the common room and plopped on the couch with some of the other X-men and watched the Christmas movie playing on the screen. Jubilee came to join him a little later. Hours passed and in the end, they were the only two left in front of the tube. Bobby lazily flipped through channels while Jubilee yawned loudly. A couple more minutes passed and she pushed herself off the couch. "I'm going to bed. See ya tomorrow Bobby." He shrugged and waved. "See ya Jubes."
Flipping through the channel for a few more minutes, he settled for something but his own sleepiness began to take control unbeknownst to him. He quickly fell asleep on the couch. As the night passed, he was woken suddenly by the voice of Kitty Pryde. "Bobby?" she called. He sat up quickly and whipped the drool from his mouth. "Yeah?" he asked eagerly, his heart beating a little faster. Yeah, so he had a little crush on the senior member of the X-men. Jubes was always badgering him about that and he always fervently denied it. "Do you know where Rogue is?" she asked coming to the couch to hover over his sitting form. Bobby shrugged. "No clue." He silently begged her to sit down with him.
Kitty sank into the couch with him and frowned. "I haven't seen her all day yesterday and now I can't find her today. I don't even know if she came to bed. Did you see her yesterday?" Bobby shook his head, silently giving thanks for Rogue's disappearance since it gave Kitty an excuse to talk to him. "Do you need to talk to her badly?" Kitty got comfy on the couch and stared at the moving images on the TV. "Well, no. I just wondered, is all. Just had a strange feeling." Bobby shifted in the couch, inching slightly towards Kitty, trying to be inconspicuous about it. Smiling at her he waved his hand. "You shouldn't worry too much. She'll turn up. She's probably somewhere around here."
Little did Bobby know how wrong he was….

A/N: Yup, short. But I think all of my first few chapters are quite short. What did you think? Reviews? Oh yes, and I know right now it seems like a KittyBobby, but its not. JubesBobby in the later chapters. But this story is more plot than romantic. So for those looking for a mostly romance centered JubesBobby story, sorry but the romance will not be the main objective here.
