"Is that what you're worried about?" Steven's voice chimed out in disbelief, eyebrow arched at the other male before him. The steel master crossed his arms as he leaned up against the cold wall of the champion's conference room—this time located in Sinnoh—and let out a small chuckle. His steel blue eyes focused on the view ahead of him, gaze softening.

The redhead next to Steven pushed himself off the wall. He tossed him a glare, scoffing. "I didn't come to you so that you could mock me," Lance remarked rudely, looking away. "Besides, you know her more than the rest of us here."

He looked back at the Johto Champion, and snickered. "Don't you think that most girls would enjoy flowers as a gift?"

"I don't know, that's why I'm asking you, moron." He tossed his cape over his shoulder, observing the view along with Steven. It was a good distance from where they were standing in; across the room, was the elegant Sinnoh champion, feeding her Roserade a poffin accompanied with cute praises. She was so gentle with her companions. That was one of the many things Lance admired about Cynthia—her loving demeanor. It surprised him, how she could be stern about something, yet be polite and sweet—oxymoronic.

Lance flinched, breaking from his focused scrutiny and blinked at the ringed fingers that snapped inches from his face. Before he could part his lips and toss him a sarcastic insult, Steven sighed. "You keep getting yourself distracted, idiot." Standing up straight, he ran a hand through his steel blue hair, biting off a smirk. "Since you won't do anything, I'll do it." The dragon tamer gave him a confused face, which quickly shifted into one of annoyance once Steven strolled over across the room to Cynthia.

"That fucking..." His vermillion-colored eyes keened onto Steven, and gritted his teeth in annoyance. A sour feeling had bloomed into his chest, watching as he tapped Cynthia's shoulder, catching her full attention. The feeling darkened when she looked up, and smiled widely at his presence.

"Hey, Steven!" Her whole body turned to face him, tossing her long, blonde hair behind her. "What's up?"

"Oh, nothing, dear Cynthia," Steven hummed out in reply, throwing her a wolfish smirk. With swift movements, he grabbed a hold of her hand, bringing it up to his mouth. His steel blue eyes gleamed into her wide, golden eyes as he spoke in a soft tone. "I was wondering if maybe you and I—"

The male cringed, letting go of her hand once a red rose thrust in between the two. Both heads looked up, only to see a scowling Lance next to the two. His face was focused on the rose, slightly flustered. "—can go together to get ice cream," he mumbled, finishing off Steven's words. Before he could speak, the redhead reached out his hands and pushed Steven away with a grin to hide his flustered state. "My treat."

"But I asked fir—Hey!"

Lance stood in front of him, and rolled his eyes. He purposely tossed his cape over himself, smacking Steven with it. The Johto Champion let the rose drop onto Cynthia's small hands, giving her a small, warm smile. "Shall we?"

She stared at the red rose, then let out a giggle once Roserade snatched it from her hands and started to play with it. Standing up, she recalled the grass Pokémon, turning to Lance with a wide grin gracing her pink lips. "Sounds great to me!"

Nodding nonchalantly, he motioned for her to follow with a tilt of his head, and started to make his way to the exit. "See ya, Steven!" she chirped, following Lance along next to her.

Steven watched them walk off, chuckling to himself. He then rolled his eyes, digging into his pocket for his PokéNav. "Jealous moron," he muttered, toying with it. He pulled up the map, and gave a quick skim through it with a huff. "Mhm, May should be here. Maybe she'd like to go stone hunting with me."
