Believe – The Bravery ~ The Walking Dead, Rick/Andrea

~ So give me something to believe/ Cause I am living just to breathe/ And I need something more/ To keep on breathing for/ So give me something to believe

Even when she'd questioned whether or not Rick was hard enough to lead their little band, Andrea had appreciated the goodness and optimism he managed to hold on to, despite their situation. It gave her a sense of hope.

When she and Michonne had found their way to the group…well, actually, Daryl had found them in the woods, his relieved bark of, "Damn, girl, 's 'bout time you caught up," had actually made her laugh.

Everyone else had been just as welcoming and were quick to bring her up to speed on Shane's death (holy crap, she should have known something like that was going to go down) and how they'd all come back together as a group.

It had only been two days, but something had changed. She could see it in everyone's eyes. Especially Rick's.

She'd never seen someone look so haunted and considering the state of the world that was saying a lot.

"We wanted to go back for you," Carol said, tossing a side eye toward Rick, who was speaking softly with Daryl and Hershel, "But some thought it wasn't a good idea."

From the slight twitch of Rick's shoulders, that had clearly been his call and it hadn't been a popular choice. Lori was pointedly not looking at her husband, while Carol and Maggie were giving him dirty looks.

"It would have been a stupid idea," Andrea said firmly. "Why would you think I'd still be at the farm? It was overrun. There would be no way you could have tracked me."

She thought it seemed like sound reasoning, but as that rarely seemed to go over well

with this group, she simply earned her own glares. Daryl and Hershel seemed to approve

of her statement and Rick….

Well, he just looked relieved and offered her a brief smile that chased the demons from

his eyes for a moment.

It wasn't much, but it was enough to give her a little hope.
