Ghostly Attraction

Chapter 1: House Hunting

By Dr. John Smith

Dr. Herbert West. A young scientist whose methods were considered outlandish and crazy, boarded a plane that was heading for Tokyo, Japan. Why had West boarded a plane to Japan? Because he was accepted at the famous Tokyo Medical Institute as a researcher in life after death. Unlike America, Japan accepted the idea of West's serum.

Herbert needed a place to live, somewhere he could set up shop and do his experiments. For weeks he had been working out of a hotel he'd been staying at. His boss, Mr. Iwata, had become a good friend and was willing to house hunt with him. "Come on West. The last house was good, why not take another look?"

"I told you Satoru. I didn't like basement. It wasn't to my liking." Herbert explained. His tastes in housing was of the peculiar taste, it had to be big, not too crowded, and have ample lighting, Iwata rolled his eyes as they drove to find another open house.

"The relater was cute you know. In fact, I think she was checking you out." Iwata joked.

Herbert shot him a glare, "Please don't joke. You know I don't do relationships. They only keep me from my progress of scientific discoveries." Iwata rolled his eyes, looking at his phone, he saw the next open house and gave a face of concern. "What is it?"

"Uhhh... Maybe we should head home. You can stay at my place tonight. Yumi and the kids enjoy your company." Iwata offered. Herbert was curious, why wasn't he offering the next open house?

"Iwata, tell me. What's the next house." Herbert demanded.

Iwata lowered his head in defeat. It was no use arguing with him. "It's the Saeki house. But I don't think you want it."

Herbert shot a curious glance, "And why not?"

"You really wanna know?"

"Yes."

Iwata began the tale, "Years ago this woman and her son, Kayako and Toshio were murdered in their home. After their murder, their spirits infested the house and kills anyone who even steps foot in its walls. She gained a legend, a reputation, a name. Ju-On. The Grudge." Iwata told young scientist didn't seem phased.

"All just a bunch a mumbo jumbo. The house isn't haunted, now lets go." Herbert was serious. He really didn't believe in the curse of the Ju-On. Iwata started the car and drove off to the Saeki house.

Elsewhere, a realtor was fixing up the Saeki house for selling, and this day Kayako was not happy. In the attic, the ghost woman was sitting at a makeshift table, pouring tea. "Toshio. They're back again. Aren't they." Kayako's son, Toshio, looked out the window, nodding. Kayako slammed her fist on the table, "Why won't they leave us alone!" Kayako looked over to Toshio, who wasn't paying attention and playing a 3DS, "Toshio! Pay attention!"

"Sorry mom. I just got to a new level in Donkey Kong." Toshio was still fixated on the screen. Kayako snatched it away, hearing the familiar death of JumpMan. "Mom!"

"No games until we are left alone." Kayako said sternly. Toshio rolled his eyes, "What?"

"They won't. Mom if you haven't noticed, they don't care. We can haunt all we want, humans will just keeping trying to sell the house. I'm surprised we haven't been evicted." Toshio took a sip of his tea.

Kayako huffed, "Well, I'll just see who the next victim is." She looked out the window, seeing a red truck pull up and two well dressed men get out. One seemed different, he was American. Kayako chuckled. "This could be fun."

I really like this couple. Herbert West is obsessed with the dead, Kayako is dead. And in Fearsome Four they have good chemistry. So why not?... Don't judge me. I'm currently updating Crystal Gems vs Fearsome Four.
