Close your eyes for a second, Close your eyes for a lifetime.
Each paw step of his clan-members where ringing through his head. He just needed to escape for a while. A little walk by his self, to clear his head, to make him think straight. He had been listen to that crazy old tom from his dreams for to long. He had almost killed his clan mates. Shaking his head he let the tears soak into his fur. Clenching his teeth he looked in to the pool he had reached while walking. He was a disappointment.
What would Brindleface think? What would Ferncloud think? He could of killed his own sister in that fire. His claws came out and clenched the soil beneath is fur. Thinking back he tried to remember where he went wrong. He had loved Squirrelflight. If she stayed he would have wonderful kits by now. He looked at his reflection only seeing a hateful tom. One of his tears had caused the image to ripple. She just had to go of with Brambleclaw. He pulled back his teeth and hissed slightly. If Brambleclaw wasn't here he would have any issues, Squirrelfight would be his! Looking at his reflection again he raised his paw and slashed at the image.
Why could he get over her! He could have had Whitewing! He could have anyone. His mind quickly went through every she-cat in the clan. It settled on a black she-cat. That was the one. She would have his kits, she would love him. All he had to do was apologize for almost killing her. He laughed it sounded almost...evil. Stopping to think he looked around, he was being ridicules. Sighing he turned around and saw a shadow watching him.
Arching his back he hissed at the shadow. The green eyes watching him looked familiar. The sleek looking she-cat came out glaring at him. This wasn't the usual one he always thought of, the one from his vision earlier. She pulled her lips over her teeth and looked dangerous. Without saying a word she attacked. His eyes widened as he fell back. Blood spattered over the ground, her teeth, and into the air. Reaching up with one paw he caught some of his fur. At least he could touch her one last time. He laid in the cool stream his fur soaking up the water. It turned red around him. She laid on the land in front of him her eyes turning soft.
"I'm sorry, Ashfur. I really am."
That was her soft side. He smiled to himself. As she walked away only being about to say the last thing to her in his mind. 'I love you, Hollyleaf.' His eyes grew heavy fast. The coolness around him pulled him a little down stream. He remembered something someone from his past had told him once. "You close your eyes for a second, you close them for a lifetime." He smiled and closed his eyes letting the coolness take him. "Next lifetime. I will have her."
