Sunset *Poem*
This is the poem for the story sunset, the sequel to My Poor King. I recommend reading those two stories before this, though you don't have to. This is a Nathan X Solomon Poem.
Even the immortal become worn out,
And that perfect person always knows
That every living thing must wither
Just as the pedals of a rose.
No matter how perfect your life,
No matter how perfect you are,
Even a rose with perfect, blue pedals
Will never make it that far.
"I understand your thinking,
I wont try to dissuade you.
The only thing I'll ask
Is to come with you."
Their lips touch for one last time,
The poison sinks right in.
They sit back and look to the sky,
Let the poison's course begin.
Sunset,
The beginning of the end,
And the end for a new start.
They sit back for a final glimpse,
Tears in their eyes and joy in their hearts
As they finally depart.
