Author's Note: This is my first poem on Fanfiction, and I'm not proud of it. It's weak and it's not even close to one of my better pieces. But I'm out of inspiration, and I need to start somewhere anyway. So, feedback/flames/whatever you'd like to call them, is appreciated, and I'm honored to be writing on this website and I hope my passion for writing reflects on this poem. / Also, this poem is about a victor reflecting on who he sees in the mirror and his emotions towards the HG, I guess.

Disclaimer: I (do not) own the Hunger Games.

P.S - No beta-reader was involved, so any mistakes, I take credit for.

monster in the mirror
- losing wonderland

[ - And as the victor killed his final opponent,
there was not a thought in his mind, until he
saw his reflection for the first time in forever.
He saw the face of the person he killed,
and the lives he saw stolen.
And all he could think was;
"Who is this monster in the mirror?" - ]

Who is the monster in the mirror?

The man bleeding with hate,

A Capitol-carved symbol,

Of murder, death, and fate

Who is the monster in the mirror?

A soul drowning in blood,

Sinking in the sand,

And dying in the flood

Who is the monster in the mirror?

Who holds the silver blade,

So he can join the tributes,

The tributes who died in his place

Who is the monster in the mirror?

His murderous intentions, wild

And simply, it is repulsive,

For the monster is merely a child

But, I am the monster in the mirror,

I slowly bleed with hate

I am another carefully carved symbol

Of the Capitol's deathly fate

We are the monsters you fear,

The victors of the Games,

We go in killers, and leave with trophies

Your children, we have slain
