The darkness exploded his dreams in the midst of the night, terrorizing his deepest thoughts into the ultimate nightmare that haunted his heart. Tossing and turning, ruffling the red sheets beneath his very body, he woke up with a startling look upon his face. His ochre eyes scanned the room, seeking for the only light he saw in his nightmare.

"Where did she go?" he whispered.

The fair maiden he saw was the most beautiful soul he ever laid his eyes on. The golden tresses that danced so elegantly with every movement she made had spiraled his emotions into a heavenly bliss. Her long, vanilla dress draped down the sides of her body like a pure goddess. Every little touch, movement, and word she spoke comforted him in the blanket of darkness that covered him.

She was his dream girl.

His eyes descended into another round of sleep before he found himself awake in the nightmare again. The world he saw was black and white, no sight of color to be seen anywhere. He was standing in the middle of the field, where black cherry blossoms laid on the ground lifeless and the trees were branchless. The sun was not the sun but a black, crescent moon in the deep dark sky. No signs of life were around and he was all alone.

"Nagihiko..." sung a voice.

In a split of a second, he noticed the black shredded clothes he was wearing and the scratches that were all over his arm. Shivering to the sound of the voice, he turned around and widened his eyes. There she was again, the dream girl he longed to have and love. Holding his fingers out, he tried to reach her but a force was holding him back.

Every time, this always happened every time, and it made him frustrated. However, she came up to him and weaved her fingers with his. She gently took away the force and brought him into her arms. They were slowly dancing but she couldn't keep up.

"I hear dancing is your specialty. Teach me." she smiled that dazzling smile.

"Only because you're my world, the one I see beautiful in my eyes." Nagihiko responded.

And so they swiftly danced and all of the colors of the rainbow swirled around them, coloring his world into a magnificent masterpiece. They twirled and glided, staring into each other's eyes. He had never seen someone so amazing before in his life. If only she were real.

Her plump, red lips shone the most in his eyes as she whispered sweet, loving words into his ear. She was the only comfort he found by the end of the day. Why did she feel so familiar though? Nagihiko felt as if she was someone he knew in reality. To test his theory, he leaned in closer and slowly tried to kiss her lips.

Just like the strike of midnight in Cinderella's story, he woke up from his dream and realized she had disappeared by morning. Panicking, he searched everywhere for her. Pillows went flying into the air, blankets fell off the bed, but she was nowhere to be seen. Sighing, he blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. He never wanted to let her go because she was his world and he loved her so. She wasn't real.

But he waits for night to come so he can see her again because he knows that she will find him.

She was his dream girl.
