"Mummy! I can't find any of them!" She huffed.
"Surely there's one of them here somewhere," The elder woman comforted.
"Maybe they're running away from me. Who knows, maybe.. they have tiny feet to run around with!" She wondered, her imagination captivating her little mind.
"If that happens to be true, then one must have stumbled your way," you whispered, hinting a clue at her.
She caught your drift and looked beneath the nearby clump of bushes. The little maiden raised her palm up high, as if clutching a golden snitch in a Quidditch match.
"Look Mummy! I found one!" She squealed giddily.
"Let's put that in your basket then, and start looking for more. Ready?" She asks the girl.
"Yup!" A beaming grin lighting up her face, clearly determined by finding her first egg.
They found a pink egg hiding beneath the stems of tulips and bountiful amounts of carnations. A lavender one peeking by a pot of lilies and roses.
The duo unravelled and meandered their way in the colossal garden of many hues. They met with a couple more of eggs hiding beneath shrubs, roots of trees, pots of flowers and plants alike and almost every nook and cranny where something could be hidden.
The red-headed woman spotted the familiar yellow brick path that lead to the porch, signalling the stop of their hunt.
"Mummy! Look! My basket's overflowing with eggs!" She squealed, clearly pleased with herself.
She smiled at her daughter's sheer innocence and joviality.
Her blonde curls bounced as she stepped on the stones as if some unknown entity were to harm her if she stepped on the dewy grass.
As if on cue, a mop of strawberry blonde hair came running with an azure basket of his own full of eggs together with an older man smirking.
"How many did you get?" Cassie asked her brother excitedly.
Leo raised his basket for his sister to see and smiled with a hint of smug satisfaction at the immense amount of his.
They both counted the eggs of their own whilst sitting on the porch as their parents went inside to watch their little ones.
Lily kissed Scorpius on the lips.
"Thank you."
A small smile graced his lips, understanding her sudden bout of gratitude.
"Anything for you, flower."
She smiled.
"So, how about we go on an egg hunt of our own?" Scorpius stated suggestively.
Lily blushed scarlet and slapped her husband's arm, playfully.
"Shut up."
A/N: Happy Easter, guys! April Fools, too if you're on the same side of the world as I am. A bit short, though. Review! :))
