Missing her was something you have had to deal with for three years, but now that you have to fight her while she's not exactly, herself, instead possessed by some sea hitler is the actual worst. You never wanted to hurt her, but when she threw the mayor off of the ledge and then demanded that you fight her crossed a line.
It all happened so fast and now she has a sword impaled in her chest. You thought she would have dodged it. You thought you gave a warning. All you wanted to do was wear her out not this. Never this.
She sank to her knees tears streaming down her face as she desperately tried to get the sword out of her chest. You stared at her with wide eyes once you realized what you did, gently pulling the sword out of her chest you sat down quickly so you were at eye level with her. Her ears were pinned down to her head as the dark grey in her face left her.
"Jade oh my god I'm so sorry," you rushed out pulling her into a gentle hug not caring that her blood was getting all over your clothes.
"I know I know," she said softly trying to calm you down even though she was the one stabbed and currently dying.
"It was an accident I swear I never wanted to hurt you I'm sorry," you whispered starting to hyperventilate.
"Dave honestly it's fine," she coughed blood streaming down her chin crossing paths with her tears that were still flowing like a river. She's so strong and you aren't and shit you fucked up so badly. You killed this fucking goddess and you regret it. You regret it so much and all you've ever wanted to do was protect her and you were the one to end her life.
"Jade, Jade, Jade, Jade," you repeat her name making sure you never ever forget it, "I'm so sorry all I wanted to do is keep you safe" by now she's dead in your arms with her pretty green eyes looking up at you but you keep taking anyways, "I never meant to hurt you," you sob into her black wavy hair that used to sway with her bubbly movements.
