"Astrid, all I want to know is why you're acting like this." Hiccup said.
"Acting like what? Concerned for the safety of my friends, unlike you?" Astrid responded, crossing her arms angrily.
"You know what I'm talking about." Hiccup said, folding his arms and raising a brow at her.
"No, actually, I don't." Astrid lied. She knew very well that he was referring to her being jealous, but there was no way she was going to admit that. Her…being jealous of him, it seemed so…ridiculous. Someone as scrawny and oddballish as him never used to be someone anyone wanted to be with. But it was true, nonetheless, she did have feelings for him. Plus, it wasn't like he was that way anymore. He was actually…pretty desirable now.
"Astrid, come on. Ever since we rescued Heather you've been acting crazy and jealous. Why are you so threatened by her?" Hiccup asked in a calmer voice.
"Jealous? I'm not jealous. What makes you think that?" Astrid said nervously.
"Well you have no reason to be. You know I'm just being friendly, don't you?" Hiccup said.
"Doesn't seem like it to me…" Astrid mumbled miserably, crossing her arms and turning away. Hiccup placed a hand on her shoulder and turned her back to him.
"Look, you know the only girl I see is you, okay? I'm just trying to be supportive of her because I know what she's going through is really tough." Hiccup responded. Astrid was quiet for a moment, thinking over what he'd said.
"You really mean that?" She asked, drops of curiosity and happiness seeping into her voice.
"Definitely. You have no reason to be jealous." Hiccup responded with a goofy smile. Astrid quickly gave him a hug.
"But seriously, I still think she's in cahoots with Alvin. I saw what I saw."
Hiccup only chuckled at her briefly before Astrid's accusation caused the two to dive into an argument again.
