The Joys of Newspaper Ads
Sitting in his large but empty loft, a nineteen-year old man was looking out the partly opened window. As he was sitting there his long raven locks moved with the light breeze. His thoughts wondered on weather or not he should get a room mate. If I do get a room mate then I don't have to pay as much with the bills and stuff, but if I do then I'm more likely to have to find a new job soon so I can afford this place. I also could move but for some reason I don't want to because I'm so attached to this place. Rei thought to himself as he looked around his home. Oh I know I can put an ad in the newspaper for a room mate. Walking into the kitchen, Rei grabbed the pen and paper that sat next to the phone and started to write an ad for his room mate.
Wanted: Room mate
Requirements: Must be Male
Must be able to clean up after themselves
Call: 555-7090
Rubbing his chin, Rei thought that sounded good. Now all he had to do is call the newspaper and tell them. Having opened the phone book Rei dialed the number that was listed for the newspaper. After three rings, someone pick up the phone.
"The BB Times," Lola speaking, "how can I help you?" A female voice said.
"Yes, I would like to place a wanted add," replied Rei grabbing the notepad from the table.
"Ok, what do you want it to say?" she asked. Rei read off what he had scribbled down to the woman. "That will be in tomorrow's paper."
"Thank you." Rei said before hanging up.
The Next Day
Hearing the phone ring, Rei ran into his living room to grab it. "Hello."
"I read your add in the paper," came a male voice.
"Oh right, do you want to stop by and look at the place?" Rei asked as he walked around the apartment.
"Yes I would, when can I come over and look at the place?" the voice asked.
"Today if you like in an hour or so," replied Rei.
"What is the address?" he said.
"Oh, sorry. It is at 302 North 8th street. It is on the seventh floor," Rei answered. "So see you soon?"
"Yeah, I'll be there in an hour and a half," he answered.
"Bye," said Rei.
"Bye," said the voice.
Rei listened as the line went dead. Looking around the apartment he noticed that he could straighten up before he sat the phone back down. He walked over to the room that someone would be occupying before the weeks end. Opening the door, Rei saw what was once his office that he never did anything in expect for playing solitaire on the computer. Noticing the divits in the carpet from where his desk once sat. Rei walked over to the hall closet and grabbed the vacuum to try and remove the divits from the carpet before the man arrived to see the apartment.
