He had never seen such perfect green eyes.
They met his as he opened the compartment door, annoyed at first, but slowly they became puzzled as those green eyes stayed glued to his. He was vaguely aware of irritated voices jousting back and forth in the background, but he could hardly see past her perfect green eyes, and her perfect fiery red hair, swinging loosely around her shoulders.
The boy who sat beside her was yelling at his companion, the one who stood beside him. Neither the companion, nor the boy in the compartment noticed the looks being exchanged between their friends. He ignored them as well and approached the girl, his hand outstretched.
"I'm James," His voice was barely a whisper, the girl took his breath away.
"Lily Evans," She took his hand a shook it for a second, but didn't let go, and they kept on staring. Her voice was like the casual ring of laughter from an old friend, it made you want to smile. Her hand was soft beneath his, like a delicate doll's. She looked so fragile, so perfect, but her eyes betrayed strength, a devil behind the angel. Her name was wonderful, she was like a flower in so many ways, and he understood the name perfectly.
As James' companion pulled him into the seats opposite Lily and her friend, James felt the loss of her soft hand. He pulled his gaze from hers and frowned at her companion, picking up the conversation. He was soon exposed to that devil he had seen.
Though he was so young, only eleven, he could feel the next 7 years coming on.
He soon loved those perfect green eyes.
