Have you ever felt like you were one day going to be something great? I did too when I was little. I dreamed of going places, seeing sights, meeting new people. But never did I predict what my fate had in store. For me, and everyone else around me.
I was standing alone in the middle of the street as chaos ensued around me. Men and woman ran in the opposite direction I was facing. There were screams of pure terror erupting from more and more people.
The source of the running could be found at a scattering few. Their skin was a sickly yellow green color. Their stench was horrendous, consisting of rotten food, spoiled milk, and ammonia. The smell alone sent people into a panic.
I just stood there, tears building in my eyes. My stomach filled with the feeling of dread as someone dear to me limped in my direction. He, too, was taken down.
My legs were frozen, unable to move as he came closer and closer, enough for me to touch him.
Suddenly, he lunged quickly. I didn't have time to react before a burning sensation, white hot apain shot through my shoulder. The burning spread slowly, painfully, my body still unable to move as he knocked me down to the ground, more in his.. Condition… Came and were towered over my body. The intense pain was too much, my vision blurred and faded, all sounds disappearing when my sight did as well. Feeling in my body was soon lost as well.
When my vision returned, I found I wasn't where I last saw myself.
Instead, I was haunched over someone, I couldn't tell who it was. I was conscious of my actions, I was biting and tearing into the man's flesh, but I had no control. I couldn't stop myself. His blood stained my hands, each muscle moving instinctively, nothing at my will.
My stomach felt empty and the need for food drove my body's actions. The flesh and blood was soon filling my stomach. My body stood, leaving the man there, but my movements rolled him over. Inside my mind, I was screaming in shock, agony, and terror. The man I just murdered… Was my brother.
