Short drabbles on the Marauders.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
Colours
James Potter is red.
He is red;
that is his colour.
Red like a Gryffindor,
red,
the colour of bravery
and arrogance.
Like,
hey, look at me.
He is simple,
one colour,
one mind set.
James Potter is red.
Sirius Black is grey.
He is grey,
and he doesn't see things
in black and white.
His cousin, Bella,
she sees things
in black and white.
Good and bad.
Right and wrong.
He doesn't.
Like
when he didn't want to leave,
because,
however stifling and wrong
the Black way of life was,
he would have to leave his cousins
(AndyBellaCissy-one being,
not three sisters)
and his brother,
and he loved them,
and her,
before
she was Bellatrix Lestrange.
He wishes she could see in grey.
Sirius Black is grey.
Remus Lupin is amber.
He is amber,
and that colours his vision.
Amber like his eyes,
amber,
the colour of hope.
Hope that people will accept him,
like Dumbledore.
Hope that his friends will never leave him
(although, of course,
he knows they will eventually)
and hope that,
one day,
somebody will find a cure.
Remus Lupin,
he feels and represents hope,
and he is amber.
Peter Pettigrew is blue.
A cool blue,
like the ocean on a cloudy day.
He thinks that he is very lucky
that he has such friends.
Or at least,
that's what he tells himself.
But really,
he sees them as blue.
Cold and disinterested in him,
only interested in themselves,
and he doesn't think
that he should put up with them.
So he doesn't.
And then he sees her eyes,
Bellatrix Black,
and they are
the same grey as Sirius'.
But Narcissa's are blue.
So he fixes on that.
Peter Pettigrew is blue,
because he is told to be.
