You carefully ran a hand through her hair, which covered most of her pillow. You felt the softness of it, and you enjoyed the way the thin locks tickled your long fingers.
Your dark eyes were locked on her face. The most beautiful face you've ever seen; you had admitted that a long time ago.
Your hand automatically made its way towards her pink cheek, softly touching it. You liked the way it warmed up your hand.
You put your hand back on your knee, wondering what you actually were doing here.
To wake her up? No: she's way too beautiful.
To watch her sleep? Even though you loved her cute, yet peaceful face, no.
To tell her goodbye…? You felt a frown appear on your forehead: yes, maybe that was it. Maybe that brought you here in the middle of the night, because you couldn't see any other way to come so close to her, like now.
You cleared your throat, licking your dry, thin lips.
Guilt consumed you; fueled the fire of self-hatred.
You couldn't bear to wake up the angel in your world of nightmares.
To disturb her one last time was an option no more.
Slowly getting up to escape through her window, a fragile voice whispered behind you, "Wait."
You turned slowly, unwillingly to steal a glance at her. A lump in your throat constricted any sound. You swallowed down your tears, your pride, and choked out, "I'm sorry."
Every step you took confirmed your worthless existence.
With nothing left to fear, you leaped out of her window.
Without bracing for the fall.
Sam – Really, I'm proud of the fact that I wrote this together with the most amazing author I know, xAvenging Angelx. We wrote this in, like, an hour or so and I love this. Songy, seriously, I wish I could write like you do.
