In the not too distant future…
Jethro Bradley stepped out of the digitization bay to meet his guests. After his father retired, Jet decided to move from his level six programming position to his father's old job. He was the most logical choice, because he clocked the most time in the digital world. It was the age of NetNavis, which are pretty much personal AIs. Jet's NetNavi was none other than his father's old security program, TRON, who had been enhanced to cooperate with the new net world. Still, Tron looked like Jet's dad Alan back in '82. Ma3a, the program responsible for the digitizing process, was still alive and well in the computer, although Navis were a bit thrown off by a talking gray sphere with a wireframe face. And fCon was history. The CEO was never found.
"LET ME GO!" Lan Hikari was with his father strolling the halls of ENCOM when he got nabbed by a pair of men in purple labcoats, who knocked both Mr. Hikari and Lan's PET to the ground. They dragged him thru the building until they passed through a set of doors with the radiation symbol posted on them. One of the men pointed a handgun at Lan. "If you're smart, kid, you'll stand right there or else I'll shoot ya." Lan obeyed. When the other man saw Lan was on the right spot, he tapped a few commands into a nearby computer. Soon the whirr of machinery filled the room.
"Laser activity in five seconds. Put on goggles. Clear digitizing bay."
Those were the last words Lan heard before a laser beam hit him and slowly disintegrated him…
