I don't own Sherlock, like a lot of other people :p
Enjoy and please review!

"Sherlock? Sherlock, I'm back..." John called, carrying the heavy shopping bags up the stairs. Upstairs was silent. John was hoping it was a good thing...

"I'm back, and I ... Sherlock?" He frowned as his flatmate starred out of the window, not responding to him. John shook his head as he packed the shopping away.

"I received another one." Sherlock muttered quietly.

John stopped suddenly concerned about his friend.

"Another what?"

"A Valentine's card John! Weren't you listening a minute ago?"

John sighed, relieved.

"Right... hang on... I wasn't here a minute ago!"

"Weren't you? Never mind. The point is I've got a Valentine's card. Me. A Valentine's card."

"Ok... is that such a shock?" John realised that it wasn't the best question by the way Sherlock looked at him. "Ok, ok. Well... do you know who it's from?"

"Of course." Sherlock picked up the card from the desk and scanned it before holding it out to John. "Look."

He took it carefully and glanced over it.

"What am I meant to be looking at?" Once again, Sherlock gave John 'the look'.

"The card is expensive from the type of card and the quality of the design. Clearly this someone wanted to make a good impression. Then there's the writing inside. It's obviously written in fountain pen, but there is no smudge or mark on the other side of the card, therefore the message was written with extreme care, and they took the time to make sure it had dried properly. They must really like me if they decide to take so much care over it."

"So..."

"Come on John... Who do you think it's from?"

"I don't know... Molly maybe?"

Sherlock shook his head. "No. Of course it isn't. She sent that one, with the adorably sickening kittens on it." John followed where he was pointing at and spotted it, on top of the contents in the paper bin.

"So who is it from then?" John asked once again.

"Can you really not know? Because I recognised the handwriting straight away, it's so unbelievably obvious. Also the fingerprints on the envelope are a big giveaway..."

"Fingerprints?"

"Yes, I checked it with the microscope. Valentine's cards are meant to be mysterious, and yours isn't very mysterious John. I figured you'd sent it 3 minutes after I received it."

"Urm... what?"

"Oh John, don't bother trying to deny it. Besides, I found the receipt for it in your room."

"You found the- Hang on... what did you go in my room for!"

"I didn't have any stamps. Besides, it would be too late if I posted it now."

"What the...?" It took a few seconds for John to realise what Sherlock was hinting to him. He glanced at his flatmate before hurrying to his room. He noticed the envelope on his bed and ripped it open to reveal the Valentine's card inside. He shook his head in bemusement and smiled at the message, before hurrying back to where Sherlock was waiting.

"I know a good Chinese restaurant. Fancy going out for dinner?" Sherlock asked, smiling at John.

"How can I resist?" John smirked, as the two brought their lips to meet each other's.
