It was certainly a bit of a surprise finding a rose laying in the middle of the table; large and fresh with a few dew drops still clinging to the soft petals. Zarbon briefly noted, with a roll of his eyes, that Raditz could have at least cut the roots off after he had pulled the flower from the ground.
There was a small note pinned beneath the stem. The message quickly scrawled in messy handwriting had come very close to physically knocking him off his feet. Handwriting certainly wasn't the strength of any Saiyan but there was no mistaking the untidy letters that spelt: HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Zarbon would have loved to see Raditz's face as he had written that. It had obviously been done very quickly but had sucked quite a bit of pride from the Saiyan.
The thing was, it wasn't Zarbon's birthday. At least he didn't think so. Neither his nor Raditz's culture celebrated such things. The parents kept track for the first few years for different coming of age privileges but after that no one really cared. Therefore, because he had never really paid attention to it, Zarbon wasn't exactly sure when his birthday was. So how would Raditz know?
Then Zarbon remembered that it had been ChiChi's birthday last week. He also remembered being told that Kakarott had forgotten at first but had managed to save his tail by picking and arranging a large bunch of wild flowers.
After a moment of very brief thought, Zarbon decided to go with the idea that it was just a nice (if not odd) idea from Raditz. Not that he was competing with his brother.
