Tori shifted and tried to get comfortable but she was miserable today. Her day had gone from bad to worse. Her whole month had been like that. Nobody cared. Nobody understood. They had not known what happened.
"Hey," Andre said, "Have you noticed Tori's been acting kind of weird lately?"
"What else is new," Jade asked, "Tell me something I don't know."
"Jade," Beck said in an annoyed tone.

"Whatever," Jade said, "She's probably just feeling sorry for herself cause she had a bad day."

"I'd better go talk to her," Andre said.

"Whatever," Jade repeated, "She's just trying to get you to feel bad for her. She wants to feel better. That's obvious."

Three days passed and Jade actually was beginning to feel sorry for Tori. It was obvious that something serious was bothering her. Jade had long since resented Tori but on Friday when Tori was sitting all alone Jade actually felt a twinge of sympathy for her. She had been in Tori's shoes before. She knew how it felt and she knew it was horrible. She came up to Tori and sat down.

"Spill it," she said.

"Spill what," Tori asked.

"Vega," Jade replied, "You've been acting weird all month. Spill it"

"Well you know what happened to me," Tori said

"Yes I know you had a bad day last week but you were acting like that even before. You've been zoning worse then a traffic street. I am even worried about you and that's saying something."

"Why do you care," Tori asked, "It's not like you like me anyway"

Jade slapped her upside the head.

"Of course I like you Vega," Tori said, "I don't like some of the things you've done but I like you."

"Well," Tori said, "Last month my dad was diagnosed with Huntington's disease. My aunt was killed in a car bomb 3 weeks ago. My uncle who I love dearly but he's a nut moved in with us and is driving everyone crazy with his compulsions. My brother died 3 years ago to the day. Beck got mad at me last week for something stupid. Oh and my parents can't afford to send me and Trina to Hollywood Arts so they picked me and Trina won't let me hear the end of it"

"Vega," Jade said gently, "That sucks. It's not fair. You shouldn't have to go through that but right now it's happening. Listen kid it's going to get better. In the meanwhile here's my phone number. Call me any time you need to talk. I don't care if it's three in the morning"

Jade then hugged her and walked away.
