The Beginning

Chapter # 1
The Lab
"Wow. You know you are pretty strong for just starting," said Allan.
"Thanks," said Vala sheepishly as she tucked her blonde hair behind her ear.
"Come here Nightshade!" said Vala calling her pet over to her. Nightshade came over and Vala petted the poochyena behind the ears (which were Nightshade's favorite spot).
"You know, you and Nightshade have really bonded," said Allan looking at Vala and Nightshade. As the wind picked up, a wild nidoran came lunging toward them. Allan's eyes grew wide. Vala looked at Allan and as soon as she saw the wild nidoran that was coming toward them, she bounced up and said,
"Nightshade, tackle!" yelled Vala ready. The wild nidoran gave a great cry and started to go the other way. A calming look came over Vala as her jacket swayed in the wind.
"Come here Nightshade. Good girl," Vala said as she bent down to give Nightshade a treat.
"Come on, let's head back to the lab before it starts to rain," Allan said, looking at the cloudy sky. A clap of thunder was heard and rain started to come down. They both laughed and started to run back to the small lab.
As the group walked through a big wooden door to a small lab, a voice said,
"Well, how did she do Allan?" said Prof. Grant in a gruff voice.
"Vala did great! Nightshade and Vala have really bonded a lot. They even battled a wild nidoran without getting poisoned!" said Allan excitedly. Prof. Grant looked at Vala and gave her a big handshake.
"Well done Vala," said Prof. Grant in a proud voice. Prof. Grant looked at Allan and said,
"If Vala wants me to," said Allan looking at Vala. Vala looked at Prof. Grant then at Allan with a confused look upon her face.
"Well, what we mean is, if you want me to come with you or you can go by your self," Allan said in an explaining voice.
"Oh, sure, I don't mind," Vala said in a calm voice. Prof. Grant looked at Allan and nodded his head in agreement.
"Okay then Vala may I see Nightshade for one moment please," said Prof. Grant looking at her and Nightshade.
"Okay. Come here Nightshade." As Vala said these words, a red light appeared and Nightshade was in her poke ball. Vala gave the professor the poke ball. The professor put the poke ball inside a machine.
"Ding ding DING!" said the machine. Prof. Grant took the poke ball out of the machine and handed it to the young girl.
"Here is Nightshade and you are ready to start your adventure!" said Prof. Grant smiling
"Thanks Professor," said Vala excitingly. Vala looked at Allan.
"Yep, I'm ready. You?" said Allan. Vala nodded her head and together they walked through the big wooden doors to the magnificent world of Pokemon!
