A/N:

Yeah I am dishing out some One-shots/Drabbles because I need inspiration for the Fic I am currently working on.

So I was listening to "Never Alone"- Barlow Girl, on repeat whilst writing this, which explains the title.

Here With Me

The lights of the city caused the glow of the stars to be muffled. Spock stood on the path which led to the Auditorium where Jim had given his lectures in previous years. Every year prior, to now they would not see one another during their Visits to Star Fleet Head Quarters until all Lectures had been given. So, he gazed at the few insects which fluttered near the light at the peak of the post he had taken to waiting by.

The chimes of crickets floated from the grass which the concrete road cut through, and the Vulcan inhaled, taking in the scent of the awaited summer rain. It had seemed like hours he had waited, but he knew it had only been a mere Thirteen minutes. The man illogically would glance down the path, hoping that he would see his friend walking the path as he had so many times before.

He knew he should not be here, he could end this wait instantly by simply going inside of the auditorium. But, he refused to do such a thing, for it would prove nothing.

There was a bench by the old light post, it had been there since he started at the Academy and it was where he had frequently sat when his friend's lectures would go over time. Spock swore to himself that he would not be here for that long.

Clouds gathered, and the Vulcan shook his head disapprovingly, he was not in possession of an umbrella, and he needed to wait here, he needed to prove this to himself.

The inevitable happened, no matter how much Spock illogically hoped. Falling first in the distant on the far side of the bay, then sweeping across the Academy grounds. He was thankful the droplets that fell were lukewarm and he would not become too cold. Thus, illness being no threat, Spock continued his wait.

The tapping of foot steps approaching startled him, but he betrayed no evidence of the fact.

He turned to face his new companion and saw clearly the face of a man he had shared many words with over the time the had served together, and even after.

"Spock," Leonard scolded softly, "Why are you here? Its 7:00 at night and your out in the rain."

Spock felt the pain, finally he felt it, after three days he felt it, "It was necessary."

Were the man's words which he struggled to keep steady.

The old Doctor shook his head, "Why? Why are you doing this to yourself?"

Tears gatherers at the rim of Spock's eyes, "It was not made real until this moment."

Leonard sighed, as he visibly pushed back tears and offered his friend a spot under his umbrella.

The Vulcan nodded a joined the old Doctor, finally allowing himself to believe the truth. He now felt the reality that Jim was not retuning from his last mission. Silently knowing, that Jim would always be with him.

A/N:

I am surprised I wrote this. I really am. I have not written this little in a while. I really hope my next on is longer.

Well on to my next song .'
