Eridan was sitting in a café waiting for his date to arrive.
He had first met the man on singles awareness day. Eridan had gone to a speed dating session and had managed to push away everyone. Everyone except for Gaius Baltar. The man was devilishly handsome and when it was his turn, he sat down at Eridan's table. "Hello." Said Gaius.
"Don't evven bother." Eridan sighed "You're just gonna reject me like evveryone else."
"No I won't" said Gaius "I believe that everyone should at least be given a chance."
"..Fine." said Eridan. So they proceeded to talk. Eridan whined for a while about how everyone pushed him away and nobody loved him.
"Don't say that." Said Gaius "God loves you!" Eridan didn't believe in gog, but he realized that Gaius was making a effort to make him feel better. They talked about their interests for a while. Gaius realized that Eridan was a loving troll aside from his genocidic habits. This intrigued Gaius. Gaius also noticed how attractive Eridan was.
When the last round of speed dating was over, Gaius handed Eridan a card with his phone number on it. "Call me later." He told Eridan.
Eridan had called him a week later and had arranged a date.
Gaius walked through the door and sat down across from Eridan. "Gaius," said Eridan "I havve to tell you, I don't believve in gog."
"I knew that." said Gaius "But even if god doesn't love you,….I do."
And then he kissed him.
